Here's to hoping Kenjon Barner has a solid game and is fully healthy for Stanford...I almost wish he wouldn't have played against ASU...he wasn't himself at all! We need the real KB Saturday if we're going to win!

Chip seemed to only use him on special teams late in the game. I don't think he was 100% but Chip still wanted him back returning kicks. Hopefully he's fully healthy this week.

He sure seemed okay as the gunner in special teams. First one back there consistently. Maybe it was because we punted it 11 times and kicked it who knows how many and the kick returns. All that in 100 degree heat. He was probably 100%, how many times do you want him to sprint the length of the field in that heat x

I was surprised Alston didn't get some carries. A bigger back to thump at them a little. A big back like Blount would have been nice to have against ASU and for Stanford. Hopefully Dontae can pack on some pounds this year.

Good call on that. If Barner wasn't available, why didn't we shake things up a bit and go to Alston to change things up from James a bit?

In some ways I think Chip used the basic handing off to James to run off tackle for a lot of the 2nd half to test the D, keep things simple on offense to kill as much time as possible but not turn the ball over and force the D to make plays and test their toughness and conditioning. 99 plays that D went up against in high 90 degree heat. The only concern with James is his size and the possibility for Injury..... maybe he was hoping James would break off a long run and seal the deal but was content with relying on the D.
