I can't wait to see the emergence of this kid. A few of the runs around the end look soooo JJ to me. His cut-backs are a thing of beauty.

I had not seen those highlights. Thanks so much for sharing. He's quite the juker! Love it!!

I really think that he will be next in line to continue the trend of great running backs at Oregon.

notice he was in the wildcat about half the plays they showed. Imagine him,blount and harper in the backfield at the same time.

Notice how many TD runs of more than 7 yards there were? BAM!!!

That seems to be a trait the Duck RBs have been exceptional at, lately.

Plus, much like Chris Harper, he can apparently catch the ball, as well!

Per James' HS coach, Jeff Traylor: "LaMichael James is an absolute warrior." James played whatever position was necessary, and basically willed his team week-in and week-out.

James looks like a good replacement for JJ. From the video, he seems to be a very tough runner and can catch the ball very well, just like JJ. I say we need to possibly get him on KR or PR since his speed would be a great asset.

Plus he has the leaping ability to offset his shorter stature.

That is a good comparison and perhaps it is just rose colored glasses, but Lamicheal appears to take hits and keep it going a touch more consistantly. I am not sure, but perhaps Javid might have him by just a touch on top end speed, but has nothing on Lamichael's quickness and ability to cut in traffic for sure. I also like how Lamicheal seems to turn upfield more often rather than bouncing outside as a first response to pressure. Obviously we learn from our inate abilities and Javid is flatout fast, so his natural instinct seems to be to head outside around pressure, while it appears Lamichael wants to weave thur traffic a bit more. It appears Lamichael had good coaching in HS as he looks to be a complete runner. Anyway, as mentioned earlier, I can't wait to see him as the heir apparent (in my book) to JJ. Watching his running style on film sure makes me miss JJ already. I am just glad we picked up the kid so the legend can live on. Once he learns the "stiff arm" watch-out!

Excellent comparison! Best looks a tad quicker on film but James has the moves/cuts...I wonder just how fast is LMJ because we all know how fast Best is...

The thing that I really like about James is that he has what all great backs have - the ability to make moves/cuts/change of direction at almost full speed. A lot of guys have good moves, but once they make one or two, they have slowed down so much that they get caught. The ones who can shift or change direction without losing their speed are the really dangerous ones. (See Bush, Reggie)

I've been anticipating LMJ's debut since he signed his LOI.

If those moves translate to the college game as well as we hope, James should have Beaver fans crying in the aisles (And streaming for the gates early!) at Autzen as a RS Freshman!
