Have been told both are working with their mentor to get out here within the next month or so and take a visit to Oregon. Both have Oregon listed in the top 2 now.

Nice! It would be great to have a class all locked up early, rather than scrambling in the last week to find guys.

Great news!! Its always nice to have recruits this early in the process have this amount of interest into the program. Hopefully all can work out and they get to take the visit.

One of the cool things about locking up kids early is when they go to camps with all the other elite players they recruit for oregon too.. Maybe not directly going to another recruit and saying, "oh hey you should check out this school in oregon" but most of the recruits know each other. When a player sees Ethan Grant going wild at a summer camp, and hear he's in love with oregon and already committed, he thinks to himself, "Hmmm maybe there is something I should know about Oregon..." Exciting time to be ducks...

Mops is there any interest in the coach staff in Jake Heaps from Skyline Highschool in Issaquah, Washington?

in his two years of starting his stats were
405-648 (.625) for 6104 yards and 69 TD's, 11 Int's, 21 Rushing TD's.

Pretty impressive, any chance with this kid? Or not really an oregon type of QB since were looking for more Darron Thomas/Tahj Boyd type of QBs these days

Nice, I think getting guys to visit is half of the battle. I see the top qb from Lousiana Terrence Broadway is interested in Oregon as well.

Heaps is more of a drop back pocket passer and not a great fit for our system. Though I'm sure we'll take him, given the laundry list of places he's already looking into one commonality is that none of them are spread systems. I'd say both parties are looking in other directions. That said, there are a coulpe recievers there that we are going hard after.

Having these come out on their own dime is excellent news...thank Mr Grant!

What our take on this if they both want to commit? Obviously we take Ted in a heartbeat but do we have others we want ahead of Ivan? Or do we take both guys, considering we are short on scholarships next year and these guys are both good ones...

I'd say we take both and not worry what could have been and then if another WR appears to be seriously interested and is better we take a third...if we can!

I don't think it matters. He's coming out to visit & whenever a kid does that, he becomes very interested.

Out here on their own dime is a huge thing, IMO.

It aint cheap to visit Eugene from the east bank.

There is a rumor that Heaps came down to the Oregon camp last summer and was expecting to be given lots of attention and in the end an early offer. When he didn't get the offer he was upset by that.

I don't think he fits our offense all that well. He's a great talent but hed be wasted in our offense. I think both sides know that.

Yeah he's fast enought in HS, but I don't think he's the true running threat that CK wants for his QB. Has a great arm though, hope he does well in college.
