Hey guys, I've been lurking around this forum for a while and figured it was time to make my first post.

Have you seen the new blog entry from Rob Mosley?

I find this very interesting for two reasons. 1) it could possibly seal the deal for Boyd and 2) it could be another sign that Bellotti is on his way out since Martin would probably take over the QB coach position; Kelly's current gig.

I saw that earlier and thought the same thing that you posted. Could be a really good pick-up, in multiple ways.

So the Joe G and Newman would be saying something brilliant like, "Man, those Oregon QBs are really 'Teeing' off on the pass D today..."

Its my bet that Bellotti is done and from what I have also been told from someone close as well.

My best bet about Tee Martin would be this: Kelly becomes the Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator and thus opening up another coaching position. Tee would then slide in and work under Kelly as QB coach and they both would work together on that group in positional drills. Martin would be brought along as the eventual OC and when Kelly believes that he knows the stuff well enough he'd give up OC duties. That said, I cant see any plan that doesnt have Kelly at least working with the QBs here and there.

Would this be a better hire than Ryan Day?
Or is he not that interested in coming?

Day is a WR coach, so technically, there is probably room for both in Kelly's future...

Only concern about Tee Martin is the "pay for play" scandal he was involved in. We don't want an NCAA spotlight on him if he comes to Oregon and starts recruiting.

This news about Martin finally has me more than 50/50 feeling that we could get Boyd . . . as opposed to so many of the rest of you who have sounded confident for some time. After last year's Pryor escapade -- and that was just about getting him out here for a visit -- I'm EXTREMELY cautious in my feeling of our chances for these 4-5* recruits.

Do we actually know (is there a source for) Boyd is having a press conference tomorrow?

You got to love the winning mentality Tee Martin would bring in. He has the championship ring to show the team and recruits what the prize in the future of Oregon football could be.

In this scenario I believe Day would be receivers coach/OC and Martin would be just the QB coach. I'm sure Kelley would still have his hand in with the QB's and play calling for at least a few years. Of course this is pure speculation since, I believe, Day has not been interviewed yet (nor has Pflugrad officially been let go).

A guy with a national championship ring from an SEC school could be a good addition to the staff. He would probably have some pull with the recruits in that region.

I really hope the Boyd thing comes together. If we are fortunate enough to have him commit soon it will really help with a few of the other recruits. I am a bit concerned that we are grasping at straws with Diante. I think his heart is in Colorado and it's just a matter of time before his mom and grandma give in. This is going to be a really intresting couple of weeks. Hold on boys and girls.

I don't mind the sound of Tee Martin as QB coach but like others have stated I would really like to have Day as WR Coach with a share of OC with CK. A OC coaching in waiting if he pans out...

Interesting ties with Tee Martin. He played with Peyton Manning then, huh?

Sounds like a respectable guy. Too be honest, I'd love to get some more east coast coaches to help us be more efficient in east coast recruiting.

Tee Martin replaced Manning at Tennessee. He then led the Vols to the National Championship.
