They lost to NDSU, but this should be a close game.

Re: UCSB @ Oregon
This game is going to be Oregon's first real test. UCSB is a very solid team. Orlando Johnson is a Pac 10 quality player. If Oregon can hold him under 20, they may be in good shape.
“If everybody in this room just want to be real with themselves, this game could have went either way,” he said. “We turned the ball over a lot. We beat ourself. Just be real with yourself right now. We beat ourself.”

Close at the half. For those of you that have seen this team play so far, are there noticeable differences between Altman and Kent?

as to the differences the the answer is yes we move the ball way better and we play way harder then we ever did under kent.

Re: UCSB @ Oregon
part of the playing harder has to do with not being afraid to make a mistake as we saw under ernie players were afraid to fail because ernie played favorites

One noticeable difference just looking at each of the games so far 1st half to 2nd half. The Ducks have been down at the half or only up a few in each of the games and Altman is able to make adjustments to get the Ducks to pull away or come back or the win.

Re: UCSB @ Oregon
We played hard under Kent once upon a time, just not the last three years. And some of the years sprinkled in-between Elite Eight runs.
As for this game, great to see Nared get so involved. What a novel concept, having your guards get the basketball to a post player, and having that post player attempt a high percentage basket. Mitch Platt is announcing this game with Joe G (and not doing a bad job) and has to be jealous, Mitch would have been very productive in Altman's offense.
We're not shooting well from deep, they are. They're also a pretty tall team, and they've got a 7'3 kid who can shoot, rebound, and run the floor. Not goo for a team that tends to go 6-6 across their front line.
I love how active this team is, though. Oregon State is young, but they're talented. Wazzu is talented. Oregon is BY FAR the least talented team in the Pac-10, perhaps so far behind the ninth-most talented team that we can't even see them, but we might just win a couple Pac-10 home games this year on hustle and hard work.

Much better defensive effort so far in the second half, finally extending all the way out to the shooter.
Teondre's heating from deep.

I know the competition has not been tough so it will be interesting to see how the team does once conference play begins and really interesting to see how they do against Duke.

We would have lost this game under Kent. UCSB is actually a pretty good team. Well done ducks!

Although our wins have not been against impressive teams, it is sure going to be nice having these 3 extra wins added to the win collumn at the end of the year.

Re: UCSB @ Oregon
It sure is nice to see balanced scoring. Last year, it was Porter shooting just about everything.
