From the comments it looks like its DeAndre Daniels: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball ... iels-83314

And this is way too perfect, I'm watching our game vs PSU right now & as the broadcast is headed to a commercial break you can hear the student section chanting "DeAndre Daniels" . Guess he's here on a visit.

DeAndre Daniels, the No. 3 small forward in the nation, is taking back-to-back official visits to Kansas and Oregon, a source with direct knowledge said.

The 6-foot-8, 180-pound Daniels, out of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academies, is at Kansas now and then departs for an official to Oregon Sunday.

“He’s enjoying his Kansas visit,” the source said. “One of the big draws of the of the Kansas visit was that they were playing UCLA [Thursday -- a 77-76 Kansas victory]. UCLA is one of the schools he is seriously considering and this was a chance for him to see both teams play.”

Daniels, who transferred from Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft, will go straight to Oregon from Kansas.

“He’s going to Oregon on Sunday,” the source said.

None of the IMG kids will sign until the spring period, including guard Phil Greene, who is considering St. John’s among other schools. Greene won’t take any visits until the second semester.

He's the highest rated player (36 overall) who's still available.

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... re-daniels
Strengths:
Daniels is a skilled small forward with excellent size and length. He is definitely one of the elite scorers in the country and has that special knack to score in a variety of ways. He runs very well with great speed where he can beat defenders to the rim. He can hit the 3-point shot off the catch from a kick out pass or ball reversal. His shot is smooth and his release is effortless. He simply shoots over smaller defenders with ease and he has become much more potent shooting in transition. He can pick and op to shoot or drive. In addition, he also does a good job of rebounding at both ends of the floor.

Weaknesses:
Daniels has a slender frame that may struggle to add significant muscle to bang at the next level. Due to his lack of strength he ends up on the floor when trying to finish with contact. Another area of concern is his approach to the game. His aggressive nature is fine, but far too often he takes bad shots and displays very little effort to get his teammates good looks. Many times in game situations he doesn't play with purpose in mind and will repeatedly make a bad decision either leading to a forced shot or a turnover.

Bottom Line:
Daniels plans on reclassifying to the class of 2011. He is an elite scorer for his size and can hurt his opponents in a variety of ways. However, if he could implement passing to his offensive arsenal and develop some savvy for how the game should be played with other teammates his game would go to another level.

It's going to be hard to pry him away from Kansas but maybe Oregon's location and availability of PT will help sway him.

Would have been nice if more than 600 fans would have shown up for the game. Hard to match that KU atmosphere when there's more people in the band then the second and third balconies.

I'm sure he's seen all the current facilities as well as plenty of images/video of what Matt Court will look like. Considering how we have played in our last 3 games and the results, here's a place that is getting better already and has more PT than Kansas can offer legitimately.

Daniels would be an enormous pickup. Saw this on twitter from Jason Jordan of Dime magazine:

"Oregon signee Jabari Brown tells me that he's heavily recruiting Michael Chandler and DeAndre Daniels to join him."
“If everybody in this room just want to be real with themselves, this game could have went either way,” he said. “We turned the ball over a lot. We beat ourself. Just be real with yourself right now. We beat ourself.”

The combination of Chandler and Daniels would be an amazing finish to this recruiting cycle.

Rivals has an article up on him. We're in his top 5: http://oregon.rivals.com/barrier_noentr ... &mid=&rid=

DeAndre Daniels had originally planned to wait until conference play began before taking any official visits. However, for the 6-foot-8, 180-pound small forward from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., those plans recently changed. Daniels, the No. 9 ranked player in the 2011 class, took an official visit to Kansas late last week, and was more than impressed with what he saw.

We could only sign one of those guys since there's only 1 spot left in the class. Getting Chandler would fill more of a need since he's a PF/C, although he looks to be a bit of a project.

If Daniels decides early enough, he could enroll winter term and count towards the 2010 class.

But IMG has said that none of their players will sign until the spring period so that rules him out for enrolling early.
