If we don't want to be on the bottom of the Pac-10, these are the games we need to win.

I'd sure love to see you out there coaching this team. Take any coach in the nation, this team is not going to be playing any more effectively than it has been. You come off as a flamer when you can't acknowledge things that are beyond the coaches hand.justducky0 wrote:hey oregontrack do you think Dana will have them ready this time? haha
Duck07 summed it up well above. There's a difference between being ready to play and playing well. Arizona is a LOT better than us in every facet of the game, thus the easy win for them Thursday night. We had a myriad of wide open shots that we missed in that game, which leads one to believe they WERE ready to play; they had a clear offensive plan, and they executed it. The problem isn't with preparation or "being ready to play", it's with converting. If the team simply can't shoot, no amount of prep by the coaching staff is going to change that.justducky0 wrote:please do tell, becasue in my opinion when you have a team ready to play you don't go down by double digits within 3 minutes....
Dude, you've taken a loss to Idaho way to seriously though. There is a talent/depth/size issue on this team that you ignore all the time and its rather old to continue to hear repeatedly. The "product" that you are searching for has been better than even the brightest optimists projections so what do you really think can be done to fix this? This is why I called you out to coach - what else can DA do, schematically to change this? When I critique NA, i use examples rather than more hyperbole about "being ready." When one team is outmatched, mistakes like not recovering fast enough on defensive rotation happen, its part of being over-matched.justducky0 wrote:Duck07: I did not say I could coach this team, I fully support Dana and hope him the best and I think he is doing an ok job with the subpar talent he has. Also you imply that I have "lofty" goals for this season. I just want this team to be competitive that is all. At least put a product on the floor that does not get blown out every night. I do not feel that is too "lofty" of a goal.
Oregontrack: I do not think that this team is ready to play because you say it means they come out slow...well going down by double digits very early to me seems like a slow start. Also on defense they had multiple missed assignments giving Arizona countless wide open shots on the outside and inside.
I do agree that this team works its butt off while playing tho which is nice to see but honestly that is all they have going for them. So 2of3 criteria are met in my armchair opinion
But either way I do support the team and cant wait to open the new area and cheer them on as loud as I can no matter what. GO DUCKS
Then we agree, they come out ready to play. They just aren't very talented, which is why they're losing.justducky0 wrote:Duck07: I did not say I could coach this team, I fully support Dana and hope him the best and I think he is doing an ok job with the subpar talent he has.
