DeChe' Milburn is one of the more talented all-around athletes on the west coast, doubling as a multi-dimensional threat at wide receiver and safety at Buena High School in Sierra Vista, Arizona. eDuck Sports caught up with Milburn and he indicated that he currently favors a certain team from the Pacific Northwest.

5'10, runs a 4.9? Kinda doubt he gets an offer. You never know if he can hit real hard and do some other things exceptionally, but unless he's just bananas in some other assets I think he's not gonna get an offer.

As I'm sure you know, those 40 times are usually worthless. I'm suprised he didn't say 4.4 like every other HS kid who wants to play a skill position at D1.

It's funny how much slower they all get from HS to the NFL combine.

4.9 really is a lot slower than most college DBs. I agree they're often rounded down by these kids, but unless he's giving everyone a worse number than he actually runs then he is just slow. He shouldn't be running more than a 4.7. I hate to criticize the kid, but it's the truth as I see it.

It says on rivals that he runs a 4.6.

But, I agree that the numbers mean nothing because they are not correct, usually, and have little translation to the game.

40 times do translate into games. Especially for WR's and DB's because they cover so much ground.

Knowing the position is more important than 40 times as long as the kid is still an athlete. He can't be completely out of shape, running a 4.9 and be a corner in NCAA. Having speed is important, but having a 4.4 and having a 4.5 doesn't matter as long as the job still gets done.

Well ya, knowing the position is more important than your 40 time. I'm not saying 40 times are THE most important thing, just that they are important.

And of course if you can get the job done your 40 could be in the teens. But having a good 40 time helps get the job done, ya dig?

After watching the various video highlights of him that are available, there is really nothing in them that gets me very excited about his potential at the Pac-10 level. However, as always, I don't speak for the coaches.
