Wonder if some recruits are will decommit now.

Doubt most will since a Stanford education is just as important as a good football program to the kids they recruit.

With that being said, don't be surprised if Amir Carlisle and Anthony Sarao commit to USC. While most (if not all) of the commits do value a stanford education, relationships with coaches always play a huge factor. Harbaugh was one thing, but OC/DC and other coaches can change things.

Outside of the guys who are going to Stanford for the educational opportunity, I could see several players exiting who were there because of football/Harbaugh.

It happens with most coaching changes, and this one is really big.

Wasn't there a hotshot dual-threat QB who was compared to Locker (Recruited heavily by Oregon, IIRC) who went to Stanford, in spite of the firing of Harbaugh's predecessor? Yeah! His name was Kellen Kiilsgaard , and he ended up playing safety, after Luck was recruited. He was in the same recruiting class as Kellen Moore, one year behind Jake Locker. He was 6'2"/220/4.55, and this is what Scout had to say:

"Very comparable to Washington signee Jake Locker. Solid size, good strength at his position, but his mobility and feet are what sets him apart. Great straight-line speed and is very good at making would-be tacklers miss. Will most likely get a shot at QB first in college, but is also an exceptional safety."

He quit football to play baseball, and ended up playing for the Houston Astros organization after being drafted in the 30th round of 2009.

Stanford does have a couple big 3 star DT commits at this time... 6'3"/295 Lance Callahan, and 6'3/295 Anthony Hayes, a probable business major.

Didn't Furd promote their OC to HC? Or was it one of the position coaches?

Director of Football/HC David Shaw was OC/QB coach.

Shaw played for Stanford around '95.
