This kid sounds great and he has interest...

At 6-foot-9 and 240 pounds 2012 center Landen Lucas is one of the top big men in the 2012 class. Lucas formally from Sunset High School in Portland, OR transfered to powerhouse Findlay Prep in Henderson, NV this season and has really blossomed into a big time player.

With his dad being an Oregon grad and Altman being after him early, Oregon should be up there for his services.

It would be a pretty big disappointed if we lost out on on Landen. He's a huge need, would most likely start from day one & is a local kid who's dad played here. If we lose out on him I will be really bummed. Best post player we'll have a good shot at by far.

"I saw a game on TV and my folks back home were able to check it out in person," said Lucas. "I really like the floor. I think it's a sweet idea."

Gee, recruits like it.

He wont start right away. Might not even see more than 15 minutes right away.

By the time he gets here, Kuemper and Singler will probably have the starting spots locked down so he'll be fighting them for minutes. He's going to get more than 15 just due to the lack of depth in the post.

^Oh yeah forgot about Kuemper. I was thinking all we would have is the german kid. Unless we get another post recruit or transfer though, we'll still have next nothing down low. I don't see why he wouldn't get good minutes.

Anyone an insider, what does this say?

Ducks the favorites to land Lucas? Landen Lucas made it to Eugene to watch the Oregon-UW game.

Thanks

Hope Lucas decides the Ducks are the right fit... Maybe the family connection works this time.

Yeah, Catron and Jacob will be gone by then. Really we'd have only 3 players over 6'6", Kuemper, Lucas, and the german. I think Lucas would be our first man off the bench personally.

I get the feeling that a lot of the people who recommended Altman were trying to help a really good coach who happens to be a really good human being get a chance to show what he can really do.

He had a shot with Kansas State and did well, getting them to the NCAA Tournament and winning conference COY. Still not sure why he left KSU to go to Creighton (forced out for another coach?)

There were rumors swirling that he was more or less forced out...

http://special.registerguard.com/csp/cm ... a-says.csp

"In four seasons, the Wildcats played in the NCAA Tournament once and the NIT twice, but it wasn’t quite a fit. When Creighton called in 1994, Altman was ready to leave before Kansas State asked him to go.."

http://whiteandbluereview.com/?p=6056

(In 1994, at KSU)There were some rumblings that particular boosters did not like the way the program was headed, and even rumors that some inside the Athletic Department were displeased. In the midst of this situation, Altman made the somewhat surprising move by taking the job at Creighton.

So the season after an Elite 8 run, KSU boosters were P/O'ed with a Final 4 run in the NIT?

Boo... Hoo.

Cry my hand full.

We love ya, Dana!
