a large crowd ? TV Market ? Those are I'm sure considerations. Conference makes a difference also to the NCAA. Good luck and let's hope it's a good game and both teams prove that they deserved to play.

Playing against a team with the leading 3-pt shooter in the nation is not good news for the Ducks. During several of their losses, they were burned by excellent 3-pt shooting.
You answered your own question about getting BCS schools to play at your arena, when you said you have built a winning tradition there. A non-BCS team that wins at home in front of crowds that are bigger than at many BCS schools, scares BCS coaches to death. They want nothing to do with you. Even though it might not do serious damage to their RPI, the perception is that it's a bad loss. I think if a BCS school is actually willing to take a chance on a non-con road game (and most are not), they would rather take that chance at another BCS school. That's just the way it is when you have a good non-BCS program. Nobody wants to play you.
I didn't know these two were things.WeberStWildcat wrote:Wayne Pesek wrote:Wildcat: Thanks for the info.

Its true, Weber State has treid to get home and homes with Nevada, Boise State, Wyoming, Air Force, San Diego State, UNLV, New Mexico, St. Mary's and Gonzaga. None of them would do it, but UNLV would go play at Southern UtahWeber's home record is 555-117
Its a good and a bad thing, I think its cool that teams are affraid to play here, but Im tired of watching games against nobodies. We had 4 OOC home games this year, Colorado Christian, The University of the Southwest, Seattle and BYU, not that BYU is a nobody, but I am also tired of the fact that the best teams we can get at the Dee are instate schools, (BYU, Utah, and Utah State) and even now, Utah will no longer come play at the Dee. Lucky for us Tulsa decided to accept a return trip to Ogden next season.

Damion Lillard our star point guard went down earlier this year in a game at Tulsa, and the team has had to play the rest of the season without him. Weber's go to guys are senior point guard Lindsey Hughey, senior Center Trevor Morris, junior forward Kyle Bullinger and soph SG Scott Bamforth.
Kyle Bullinger and Scott Bamforth both made the Big Sky first team and Scott Bamforth leads the nation in 3 point field goal percentage at 54.4%.
Weber has the potential to be very dangerous, but we havent played really well on the road in the OOC. We lost at Utah State, Utah, Tulsa, St.Marys, San Jose State and lost to Arizona State up in Alaska, we also lost by 6 at home to BYU. (by the way for those who dont know, Weber State is located in Ogden Utah)
Dont take this the wrong way, we arent blaming you guys, but we here in Wildcat country are all a little peeved, when the CBI contacted Weber State we signed a contract and laid down the money to host a first round game and the CBI said we were guaranteed a home game, only to find late Sunday night that the CBI turned around and gave it to Oregon, an Oregon team with a losing record, you could understand why we arent very happy.![]()
But thats water under the bridge, and we still get to play in the post season and thats all that really counts. good luck on wednesday, Im expecting an Oregon win but hoping for a Wildcat victory.
