With not much recruiting news with the class of 2010, Oregon already has a handful of highly ranked 2011 prospects looking their way. One player that Ducks Attack got to speak with was Nick Johnson, who is considered one of the top guards on the West Coast.

This 6’3” 185lbs guard has received offers from all over the country. Right now he boasts offers from Arizona State, Arizona, Gonzaga, Ohio State, Oregon State, Virginia Tech, and Washington. Despite the attention from some quality schools, Johnson is still open and isn’t close to narrowing things down.

“I don’t have a tops,” said Johnson, “any team who is recruiting me, I’m giving a good look.”

Although Johnson doesn’t hold an Oregon offer, he still considers them a team of interest. “Yeah, I’m interested in Oregon.” And the interest is mutual, as an unknown Oregon coach stopped by to see Johnson in person.

“Yeah they (Oregon) have visited me,” Johnson told Ducks Attack,  “It’s the young coach I’m not sure of his name, but he has come to my school before.”

Does Oregon have what he’s looking for? Johnson isn’t afraid to move around the country if he finds the perfect school.

“If I like the coach, if I’m going to be able to come in and challenge for a spot, tradition, and winning are what I’ll look for. If it’s the right fit then it doesn’t matter where it is,” said Johnson.

It sounds like Johnson is looking around and is still wide open. Ducks Attack will keep in touch with Johnson to give updates about his recruitment.
