Drew Davis Changes Name

The player, a junior-to-be from Denver, Colo., is D.J. Davis. D.J.'s given name is Andrew Jahmael, but he's been more commonly known to Oregon fans as Drew over his first two years in the program. D.J. requested a change in his handle prior to the start of last season, but it slipped through the cracks.
Davis, who tore knee ligaments in a win over Stanford Nov. 8, may be limited a bit this spring but is expected to be fully recovered from the injury heading into fall camp.

Hmmmm, name switches midway through an Oregon career are too confusing for me. Sorry Drew.

What I want to know is did people always call him DJ or does he just want people to call him DJ? That would be like giving yourself a nickname.

Its not that big of a deal...his given name was apparently....Andrew Jahmael Davis...
If this is the case, he just dropped the "An" and went by "Drew"...

He's a terrific guy. After he got injured he became a great supporter on the sidelines and always helped the team. He can use any name he wants, in my opinion. He currently goes by Drew Smoke Davis. I guarantee he will smoke 'em in the fall.

I agree with that...Cant wait to have him see a lil daylight with the ball....Still havent seen the speed yet.....
He is supposed to be a speed burner, isnt he?
Seems that with the massive offensive weaponry we had last year, no one got the ball a ton, with the exception of Masoli, Blount, and JJ...

Additional information on DJ you might not know: His outstanding character in high school resulted in his receipt of the 16th annual Watkins Memorial Award as the nation’s top African American male high school scholar athlete.

Re: Drew Davis Changes Name
If he can back to 100% and stay healthy I'm pretty confident that he will give us plenty of chances to hear his name pronounced DJ Davis.
