Not sure how this affects their depth/roster but Matt Kroon is transferring.

he didn't hit well last year, but nobody did so i was hoping to see how he bounced back as sophomore. ah well. we have a lot of corner infielders.

That signing class has seemed to have thinned out quickly. There was some high expectations when they committed but with Orimoloye signing and Moniot/Kroon/Robeniol transferring, leaves just a couple that will contribute this Sophomore season.
Hope this freshman class can contribute because it'll be needed.

Re: Matt Kroon transferring
i hadn't heard about robeniol transferring, or if i had, i completely blocked it from memory.
in fact, i've blocked most of last year from memory, and i'm a season ticket holder who went to most home games.
what do we have coming back?
susnara/heggen are back at catcher. kasser played a lot of 1B last year, but that's also because he was one of, like, three guys who were actually hitting. i remember he entered the year as a backup infielder. breshears is back @ 2B, but he couldn't hit beans last season. i can only imagine morgan mccullough is going to take over SS. 3B... gosh, patzlaff? seems like a spot that could certainly go to a freshman (spencer steer?). aj balta and jake bennett are both back in the outfield. so is jakob goldfarb, who hit well his freshman year before no-showing last season.
i'll still say we start the year with a peterson/mercer/yovan rotation.
based on experience, this looks like our weakest bullpen in quite some time.

usually we get a few nuggets out of media day, but yesterday told us nothing.
