Oregon wins 5-2! I chose to watch the baseball game instead while working and PK Park was empty but I did get to watch the end of this game and clearly all of the fans decided to go to Jane Sanders Stadium.

I thought the Ducks were going to blow it as that sixth inning unfolded, but they limited the damage and came through big in the bottom half of the inning.

The Wildcats had twice as many hits, 8-4, but the Ducks had three home runs, 2 by Gwen Svekis, and 1 by Shannon Rhodes. Kleist got out of a tough situation in the 6th to only allow 1 run to tie the score. But, in the 7th, Svekis, after a lengthy at bat put the game out of reach with her second homer, Rhodes followed with her round tripper.

After taking the first loss of her Oregon career, against Oregon State, Miranda Elish has gone 2-0, a perfect game shutout, followed by a 3 hit shutout, 29K's and 0 walks.

Ducks sweep the Wildcats with consecutive run rules, 8-0, and just completed a 10-0, combined 1 hit shutout by Kleist & Elish. DJ Sanders made it 4-0 with a 2 run laser shot over the fence in the fourth to make it 4-0. It started to rain hard for a while after that, and when it stopped the Ducks poured it on. Six runs in the 6th inning, featuring back to back wild pitches with the bases loaded. An error by the shortstop let in the 7th run, and on a 3-2 count, Iakopo ended it with a 3 run blast.

Total domination. Hopefully these bats stay alive the rest of the way.

It's looking good, Lindvall & Sanders have been hitting much better lately.gogreen55 wrote:Total domination. Hopefully these bats stay alive the rest of the way.

so does this mean Arizona can't hit top pitching? What about the ducks, just this week or what?

considering arizona just went 0-6 against washington and oregon and averaged a whopping 1 run per game in both series i would say that arizona cannot hit elite pitching, no. and i don't think taylor mcquillin would be considered an elite pitcher so i don't know if this series speaks for oregon's ability in that regard.
