Oregon had a 4 point lead in the 2nd set but started having a bunch of errors that led to Nebraska winning the set. Now they're trailing in the 3rd set by 4 so their season could be coming to an end soon. Not bad for a team that wasn't viewed as a real contender to get this far.

Oregon loses in straight sets so their season has come to an end. They're returning a lot of players next year so they could easily put together another run.

They are losing their setter and a couple of their best hitters to graduation.greenyellow wrote:Oregon loses in straight sets so their season has come to an end. They're returning a lot of players next year so they could easily put together another run.

Yeah, the first two sets were both tied @ 20, then Nebraska dominated. Nebraska played like a team going to their 4th straight Final Four. Ducks were in it athletically, but listening to the commentary, were not up to the challenge strategically; in particular serving so often directly to Neb's all American setter, and simply making mistakes during play, that the more experienced Cornhuskers avoided.woundedknees wrote:Oregon down 22-20 in the first set... They were able to redshirt two FR (one a setter and the other a middle blocker) who came in as first-team HS All-Americans so they should likely slide into the rotation and possibly contend for starting spots. They're also bringing in a recruiting class made up of 5 of the top 80 players in the country, with 3 being in the top 30.duckduckgoose wrote:They are losing their setter and a couple of their best hitters to graduation.greenyellow wrote:Oregon loses in straight sets so their season has come to an end. Rough match. I think the team really was just exhausted as they had to play in such a quick tournament.
Sad to see the senior group go, but glad they finally lived up to their talent in this tournament run. Next year will be interesting and hopefully the team will be in the mix for a Final Four.
