We might be bad this year, but I'm looking forward to seeing what Altman can do. I think we will finish towards the bottom of the conference, but I believe we will play more team basketball and get more out of our players than we did with Kent.

I feel very much the same about this year's team. It will be difficult to watch so many losses but I don't feel they will be as ugly as some of the losses with Kent. I can't wait for the 2011 recruits to come in.

I believe that the addition by subtraction of axing Kent and the Ewing Theory potential without Porter and Dunnigan propels this team to.......20 wins and the 2nd round of the NIT.

I think losing Porter may be addition by subtraction (and I actually mean that in a nice way, I have nothing against TP, seems like a nice kid... just doesn't play 'team' basketball), but I think we'll really feel the Dunigan defection. He may not have played like most envision a McDonald's All American should, but he was good and I was really looking forward to seeing what Altman could do with him. Aaron Brooks and Freddie Jones were "disappointments" heading into their senior years, Dunigan still had time to turn it around...

I think we start 5-0 (ND State, Denver, UC Santa Barbara, SJSU, Texas Southern), lose to Duke and Mizzou, beat Portland State, Willamette, and Jacksonville State (that's 8-2), lose @ Virginia, and beat Idaho. So that's 9-3 OOC. Although, can we count Willamette as a win, they being D-3 and all? I can't remember.

I guess I'll predict home wins over Oregon State, Stanford, USC, and Washington State. I think we'll surprise a team on the road, but by rule I think we're going to be bent over away from Mac/Matt. So I guess that's 5-13, 14-16 overall, 13-16 if we can't count Willamette. A poor record, but not 8-23 bad, and it at least gives us a base heading into 2011-12, when we'll actually have some depth.

Here is my "math"

-(Humphery+ Dunigan+Wiley+ Wilson)= -10 wins from last year

-(Porter+ Crittle)= +10 wins

So.... we will still suck.

I think we will surprise people. I'm not expecting a huge win total but I bet we'll be very competitive. Not bowing out after the first half like last years team. Lack of depth will hurt us but it will be nice to watch a team giving 100% effort.

I think Altman's coaching skills will show in Pac-10 play, and we'll get a few wins. Afterall, the pac-10 kinda sucks this year.

I'll say 13 wins. Respectable start for Altman.

Per Mops, that is the roster. To be honest, I don't expect much success unless some of the freshman/transfers come up big. I mean can we count on Jacob inside giving us a double double every game? Which guards can we count on to score consistently and shoot the ball well? The guards include walk ons, a freshman, Armstead(who I view as more of a slasher), Sim(who couldn't hit anything last season) and Williams(who still hasn't put it all together). We could easily see several games where we score less points than the football team. Expectations will be low, but I hope we don't look pathetic out there.

With what the ducks lost, the expectations should
be low. For me if they give 100% and try to learn
and improve as the season goes on, we can build
on that the next year.
It's a brand new coach, a brand new system
but i bet that the players we have are more then
willing to learn. I think this team will bond and
play as a team together, something we haven't
seen for a long time.
Altman has already proved he can recruit players
here, by the recruits committed here already.
They say he is a great bench coach, which would be
different for sure. His teams always play hard, they
run, press and shoot three's. Systems like that are
appealing to recruits. We have the facilities in place.
I believe were gonna go the right direction and I will
be patient. I look forward to seeing how this team
competes. They will have their struggles I'm sure but
I think they will also surprise some people also.

I just want to see some effort. Something to get excited about building on. I don't expect to get to the postseason, but I want it to not be a foregone conclusion immediately.

I'm as pessimistic as anyone about this years team, but I still recognize Jacob and Armstead as legit Pac-10 starters. I actually do think Jacob will averages a double double this year. I also predict Armstead averages somewhere between 18-22 points per game with good all-around stats in other areas.

I expect breakout years from Williams and Singler. We'll have a deent starting 5 with Crittle-Jacob-Singler-Williams-Armstead that will surprise a few teams. We will lose a few games because of our lack of depth but I think this team has legitimate NIT potential.

You must mean Catron since Crittle is gone.
