I hate to be cynical but the attorney in me says Gaines is gone. If he was hot and bothered by Oregon he would have pulled the trigger already. He probably feels dumb about committing this morning and then seeing oklahoma didn't get all their WRs decided to go there. My call 80% to oklahoma 20% he comes to Oregon. That was huge, because it would have allowed Harper to move RB. The Ducks are really going to need a great back for the 2010 season. I still can't believe they didn't push hard for a 4 or 5 star back other than Brown.

It appears Gaines actually has some grade issues that are being worked out with the UO ED and should be signed shortly according to the presser from MB.

That isn't what his JC coach said, so I guess we will just have to wait and see.

I wonder if it's just checking to make sure some of the classes he took will transfer. Also, does anyone know if Gaines and/or Tuinei can come in during spring camp? Being able to get them in here for spring drills would allow them to get integrated into the team and learn the offense, which are usually the major hurdles for JC transfers.

I think other sources besides the Oregonian would have picked it up if it were true about being undecided. But since it's most likely about academics, he's most likely still a Duck!

what is the date of the spring game anyway? I guess its the next big thing for us to look forward to,I cant wait to take my son he is 5 and this will be the first year i take him to see mighty oregon in person at autzen.

I'm actually sort of surprised Gaines would choose Oregon over Oklahoma since Bradford is back and how much they throw over there, but I'm certainly not complaining! Let's just hope everything works out and Oregon doesn't lose yet another promising JC to qualifying issues...

today is a lot like christmas. I wake up and get all these presents then you sit there for the rest of the day and enjoy what you have.. it wears off a little bit, but then you go to your relatives house and get more presents (Gaines and Brown come to mind).

I had to head out around 11 this morning and I was looking for a bit a recap of a couple of things.

1.Gaines committed but has not sent in his LOI?
2.Did we recieve any surprises
3.Did we lose someone we had?

dang i just looked at gaines and his profile i didnt realize he was such a beast 6'2" 225 thats a good sized receiver plus he runs a 4.40 forty,now i want him more than ever hope we get him into school.
