Or he has serious doubts about being admitted to Oregon and is opening up his options. I don't know at this point all signs seem to point to him being committed just not admitted.

One of the assistant coaches stated that he was still considering several schools. Scout has removed him from being committed to Oregon.

Scout removed him as soon as the LOI was not on the desk, Rivals however has kept him as committed without LOI.

From those in the know on educk, it's not academics and it sounds like now he will have it cleared up in a week or two. Oh and no he isn't looking anywhere else it sounds like he wants to be a duck badly. Again it's a issue that has to be cleared up with the NCAA not UO, so if he can't play at UO then I would guess the NCAA wouldn't allow him to play anywhere. That said people close to the situation are confident he will be cleared soon.

I really hope he sticks with Oregon. Not getting him for whatever reason would really suck.

Our WR corp needs this guy badly next year because I think he's a difference maker! Although Holland or someone else might not agree...

Like I said back on the signing day thread, looks like he had change of heart. I am still sticking to 20% Oregon 80% oklahoma/somewhere else. I think he is waiting so he doesn't look so bad for having a press conference committing to Oregon and then send a loi somewhere else. I really hope i am wrong. He also maybe looking for some pub by holding out.

Sounds like you have the best handle on what is going on. MB said pretty much the same thing with out the specifics on signing day. I'm sorry but Bellotti has a better handle on it & is closer to the situation than some "unnamed soure".buckmarkduck wrote:From those in the know on educk, it's not academics and it sounds like now he will have it cleared up in a week or two. I'm guessing that he's trying to get through some technical obstacle to be a Duck. But, doesn't want to say so in case he doesn't get in. That way, he can make it out as if whatever fall-back option he has wasn't his second choice. Just my 5 cent hunch.

Best I can say is this issue is mostly almost fully resolved, expect to have a signed LOI real soon. Rest easy guys and dolls.

Re: NOT SO FAST ON GAINES/Reason for delay LOI
Moseley reported that his current coach has confirmed that he hasn't decided where he is going and everything else is a lot of rumors. I hope everyone on here is right and it is some technical issue.
"Butler coach Troy Morrell said Gaines “will make a decision in a week or so.” There has been a lot of speculation as to the reasons for Gaines’ delay, which Morrell called “all rumor and innuendo.”

So what was the story about him committing at a press conference to Oregon on NSD? Why is he deciding a week from now, didn't he already decide? This doesn't make any sense, I thought he chose Oregon...

I would say the same thing if I was afraid one of my players wouldn't get into the school he picked and was trying to spin things in a positive way
