Re: #11 Missouri @ Oregon
Is it safe to say Altman is the real deal? Down 20 at the half, missing 2 starters against a top 10 team and only lose the game on a last second three point attempt and things could have gone differently had there not been so many bad calls by the refs against the Ducks. If the team could give the type of effort they did in the 2nds half for the rest of the season they could win most of their games.

I really like how Altman handles himself when answering questions from the press. He put the poor first half on himself for not having the team prepared, not solely blaming the players.

As you will come to find out (hopefully, not too many times!) that is Altman's trademark after a loss. There will be no players thrown under the bus. He blames every loss on himself, and I guarantee you he did not sleep a minute last night. You will not find anyone that hates to lose, or beats themselves up after a loss, more than Coach Altman.greenyellow wrote:I really like how Altman handles himself when answering questions from the press. That's the main reason I pointed it out. I really like the change in soundbites.DarronThomas1 wrote:That's a welcome change from Ernie.Wayne Pesek wrote:As you will come to find out (hopefully, not too many times!) that is Altman's trademark after a loss. You mean Altman didn't give a long-winded speech on fighting through adversity? Thank God! I think I say this after every game but you can't help but love what he's doing. We had no business competing with Mizzou & to come back like that after being down 22 is just really impressive.

I can't wait to see this program with a couple knock-down shooters and a legit big man on the floor, to complement what Altman is trying to do... Keep playing at the level the Ducks performed in the second half against Mizzou, and maybe a couple more players sign on for next season.
I haven't seen the Ducks show this much heart in years.
