Re: Uconn vs Oklahoma
Probably the worst matchup of any BCS game this year. I'll be surprised if UConn keeps it close past the 2nd quarter.

Re: Uconn vs Oklahoma
I wouldn't be surprised to see UConn win. Why? Because the Big-12 is 1-4 so far in Bowl games, so it appears to be a down year for that conference as a whole.
Next, the Big East is 3-1 so far in Bowl games, which means that there's a good chance that the conference may actually be better than their records show, but they just beat up on each other.
Also, as I pointed out in a different thread, Oklahoma beat Big East team Cincinnati earlier this season on the road, but Cincy muffed a punt return late in the 4th Qtr that allowed Oklahoma to score the winning TD a few plays later.
This also isn't the same stout Oklahoma defense that they've had in past years. These guys have been vulnerable this year and I'm sure UConn coach Randy Edsall, who's a very good coach, by the way, has a plan to exploit some of their weaknesses.
Finally, their offensive coordinator, Kevin Wilson, has left the team to become the new head coach at Indiana. That means that they'll have someone new (QB coach, Josh Huepel) calling the plays. That may have an impact on the game. Just because the plays are the same there's no way to know how he'll call them in certain situations.
If the Sooners come in focused and firing on all cylinders then, yeah, they shouldn't have too much trouble, but I still doubt that it would be a blowout.
UConn has nothing to lose, but Oklahoma has its national reputation on the line here. They need to win - period.
That being said, Oklahoma has lost 5 BCS games in a row and I'm not gonna cut them any slack until they prove me wrong.
Prediction:
Uconn 34
OU 30

Lets go Huskies!! Been following UCONN since they made the jump to do D-1 and its been an amazing run to a BCS game. Win or lose its a huge accomplishment for the program.

and yet, we all thought the outcome of the Huskers/Huskies game was a foregone conclusion.UofO8 wrote:Probably one of the worst BCS games since i can even remember.greenyellow wrote:Probably the worst matchup of any BCS game this year. I'll be surprised if UConn keeps it close past the 2nd quarter.

Yeah, we all really got blindsided by that one. Didn't think that the Huskers would just tank it against UW.Duck07 wrote:and yet, we all thought the outcome of the Huskers/Huskies game was a foregone conclusion.UofO8 wrote:Probably one of the worst BCS games since i can even remember.greenyellow wrote:Probably the worst matchup of any BCS game this year. UCONN shouldn't be there but I am happy to see them there because my wife is a UCONN grad and I would love to see them beat the Sooners because I hate them like most Duck fans.

Playoff system please. Maybe this will come back to bite me later, but UCONN has no business being in a BCS game.

Re: Uconn vs Oklahoma
I wish the Pac 10 officials would have given the ball to UConn after the OU receiver recovered his own fumble. That would have been funny to hear their fans.
