Rebuilding: to make extensive repairs to..to reconstruct. to restore to a previous state.

Altman is rebuilding this program from the bottom up. It will take more than a day. People need to have patience.

+1
I agree. It's very easy to be discouraged. I understand this.
All the other sports are doing well and i can easily see the
expectations being very high. What Ive seen with Altman speaks
well for the future. The effort is there. You can see in his offense that
if you have a team even with one shooter on it we will be very tough.
This team really has no shooters on it. They are extremely under sized.
Once these areas are addressed which it appears with the incoming freshman next year it will be. So yes patience is very key for the fans.
But with the football team playing for the BCS Championship and
other sports playing at a high level the pressure on Altman to produce
early will be there. Just the nature of the business.

True. Most of my griping is not because of Altman. He's done a solid job so far. My problem is having juniors and seniors on this roster who aren't stepping up (Sim and Armstead especially).

I agree. This was expected and it's going to take some time to turn things around. With that being said, it sure has gotten frustrating losing season after season after season.

I just hope that Dana Altman is familiar with the word 'expectation,' because if he fails at that, he'll
be drummed out of Eugene faster than his predecessor.

Considering Kent got 13 years, thats not saying much.

If Altman teams progress as the one at Creighton, expect big changes in the near future (And no, I don't mean this season).

His first Creighton team went 7-19... The next 2 seasons were somewhat better, at at 14-15 and 15-15.

From there til the end of his tenure as head coach of the Blue Jays, Altman's team posted 20 wins or better every season except 1997-98, and 2009-2010, when they had a 'mere' 18 wins each season.

The team had 11 consecutive 20 win seasons, playing what many consider a very exciting and competitive form of basketball.

I know there is already a significant difference in the attitude and and playing style of this team, and Altman has already signed a couple of much better recruits than he could usually get to visit Creighton, so my patience is in pretty good shape, thank you very much!

Your absolutely right, Wounded Knees!! Dana Altman needs to be give time. I guess with all the losing lately, it is easy to point out what's wrong. Just can be aggravating sometimes....
