Free student athletic tickets in jeopardy

Try shelling out 370.00 for the ticket. It sucks, but we can all decide not to go as well.

What do you mean? Is there a student athletic pass that sells for $370.00? Or, are you referencing the price of a season reserved FB ticket?
I spose that if one cant afford to buy the tickets, they probly shouldnt be doing so, but, students need to have a definate break in costs....My daughter is college age and I know for sure, she doesnt have excess cash to spend on athletic events, at the going reserved seat costs.....

I tried telling you guys when they started fucking with GA they would f*** with the student section next...It's ridiculous but they just don't care...It's all about the almighty dollar and we need to make and uproar!!!!

Lighten up man, I was just asking a question, My daughter doesnt even go to U of O any longer and doesnt even live in the area. My god, do u have an axe to grind or what..For god sakes, dont throw your tude at me, I just made a comment and asked a question...

There was a time when anybody with a student body card, be it from a local HS or LCC, got a pretty decent discount... Oh, DUH!

Back then , the idea of a full stadium or basketball arena was almost unheard of.

Yeah, its the ole supply and demand thing I spose...Oh well, not much seems to be as simple and straight forward these days..Most likely an issue of success for the FB program and such....We cant seem to cure all of the ills of the world..
Maybe the price we pay for advance and success of the program....
Still doesnt feel right to me though....It just doesnt....

As a student, I think that paying on a game by game basis would be hard! Sure the kids with rich mommies and daddies would all get to go, but College students have to go to class during the week and study to succeed, therefor, I don't know of many students that put in 40 hour work weeks and make the money to pay what season ticket holding, working adults pay, no offense to ivegottabigduck, but it is important to at least make this discounted if we have to start paying for them. It is our school's team! I also think if they have to start charging, they should make it a package, a flat rate, for either the year, or individual sport season, at a discounted rate that can be an option tacked on to fees and tuition, this would make it more accessible than students fighting for GA tickets game by game or something like that. The student section is insanely important to crowd noise, and is by far the best part of college life for me and my friends at least. making those sections either smaller or non-existent is should not even be close to an option here! Students love their ducks athletics, the department and the ASUO need to continue to attempt to show that love back!

Good points. I also think that if students are going to be charged to go to games, that they should get a specifc seat in advance. If your paying a lot of money, you shouldn't have to show up 2 hours in advance to get a good seat or you shouldn't have to scramble to find a seat at the last minute.

I agree that they should be a discounted ticket and the option to add them to tuition and fees would be great. Affordable tickets to athletic events should be available to students that want to take advantage of them, IMO that's a big part of the college experience. That being said, when I was in college in the mid 90's I took 18 hours a term, studied and worked 2 jobs an average of about 40 hours a week and it really wasn't that hard to do.

Get into the working world and tell me that taking 18 hours of class a week and studying is a full time job. It seems like a lot when you're doing it but now that I'm in the real world, working anywhere from 50-90 hours a week, raising a child and trying to spend time with family and friends I would kill be back in school and taking classes

USC tickets used to be free to students. By "free" that meant other fees absorbed them. Kids used to sell their Rose Bowl tickts for big bucks. I wonder what they do now?
