It suck to lose, but there are a lot of positives to take away. I don't remember the last time we were a decent road team, looks like we are one now.

Cal hitting 50% from 3, was as big as anything... That was a ridiculous shooting performance by Cal.
Can't hardly wait for next season, when Oregon should have a couple decent shooters to go along with the developing players.

Re: Oregon @ Cal
Strowbridge had two respectable games and then he followed it up with a horrible one. Definitely don't understand why he plays so much.
Armstead had arguably his best game of the year. His jumpshot looked good and he decided to play some defense. EJ Singler really struggled.
Tyrone Nared is awesome. Jeremy Jacob still doesn't look healthy.
A win would have been nice, but I was impressed with Oregon's energy. They stuck with a pretty talented team and Mike Montgomery is a very good coach.

“If everybody in this room just want to be real with themselves, this game could have went either way,” he said. “We turned the ball over a lot. We beat ourself. Just be real with yourself right now. We beat ourself.”

Good weekend by Armstead. More of that, please.
Nared had by far his best game as a Duck. Now is the time our JC players have historically begun to hit their stride, he could have a nice finish to the season.
Agreed on Jacob, something just isn't right.
Strowbridge plays because we have two SG's on the roster and everybody always asks why the other one plays so much (Sim), and something has to give.

He's currently leading the team in 3pt%, leads all guards in 2pt% and averages the fewest minutes per game (out of the guards).

Our team right now has a bunch of very hard working good role players. If this team had the Lukes or something, we would be formidable. We're just missing that one or two studs that when the game is close, take over and get the big bucket. We had a shot, but just couldn't make clutch shots in the final 4 minutes.

I know it sounds a bit premature to count on an incoming Freshman, but I think Jabari Brown will give us just that. It is going to take time obviously, but he is the type of player/talent that can close out games and get us over the top. These close games are great learning experiences for the current team, but it would be nice to have that stud come in and close the deal. I have patience though, this team has already exceeded my wildest expectations.buckmarkduck wrote:Our team right now has a bunch of very hard working good role players. With Catron departing, the Ducks need a banger for inside th paint... Other than that, I believe the incoming class should address just about every need quite nicely, to some extent.

Because of our lack of height, Teondre has played exclusively at the 3 this year. We're rotating in Sim, Strowbridge, and sometimes either/or Loyd and Armstead at the 2, have been all season.Boom wrote:Teondre Williams is a SGoregontrack wrote:Good weekend by Armstead. More of that, please.
