Did we just punk'd on signing day?

Post by bigsugarduck »

We still got a great class comming in and hopefully Deanthony Thomas will be that cherry on top, but did we just get hosed on signing day?

Gotta say I'm very disapointed we didn't pick up any of the "maybe sorta" players....Cross those fingers for DT....

It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

What do you expect? Oregon is NEVER going to be a prime location for all the highly sought after kids, plus the college football world hates us because of the Nike money, so other schools will try to bring us down however possible.

Plus we are perennially incapable of EVER signing a good DT, so we have no chance at EVER winning a MNC until that happens.

It's a good thing we got a top notch DT just last year. Now can we win a championship?

Alabama isn't a prime location either. No need to rationalize, just have to continue to get better. I expect the 12 class to be equally as impressive as this one.
Remember, remember, the Fifth of November, the Gunpowder Treason and Plot. I know of no reason why the Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot... But what of the man? I know his name was Guy Fawkes and I know, in 1605, he attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament. But who was he really? What was he like? We are told to remember the idea, not the man, because a man can fail. He can be caught, he can be killed and forgotten, but 400 years later, an idea can still change the world. I've witnessed first hand the power of ideas. I've seen people kill in the name of them, and die defending them. But you cannot kiss an idea; cannot touch it, or hold it. Ideas do not bleed, they do not feel pain, they do not love... And it is not an idea that I miss //////// Follow me one Tumblr/blog http://f***-kp.tumblr.com/

If we can go to another BCS game, winning it would be even better.

I don't buy that for one second. Alabama is one of the most heralded program's in the nation, and it was before Saban took over, all Bama has to do is be decent and the recruits show up. Not to mention they are practically in the middle of the most fertile recruiting region in the nation.

Yup, this class got punk'd, teabagged and clowned, all in the span of like 5 minutes. Pretty embarrassing day to be an Oregon Duck.

Seriously, I'm not quite sure how some of you think this class is anything but our best ever. Did we miss out on a few DTs, sure. Were any of those guys day 1 impact players? Not at all. No, what you think about so and so is nice, none of them were ready to play on Day 1.

If you want to be honest about who's getting punk'd tonight, wait for The Black Mamba to become the Green Mamba by choosing the Ducks and we take the Trojans most favored recruit. As for this nonsense about DT recruiting, get over it already.

Winner. Which is why Texas always has amazing recruiting. They could be in a small city and it wouldn't matter. If the cream of the crop is in your backyard, you win.

I was under the impression that he was talking about location. If he was, my point stands. And both Auburn and Alabama are bringing in elite classes. Winning is the most important aspect of recruiting.

Really? People are baggin on this class?? WOW. OK a couple of D Tackles, that we thought might come to Oregon, didnt. Look down the list of athletes at most positions. As far as DTackle goes...I think Ebert is gonna be a beast. If Oregon does land Thomas(there is already a DT on the team) this class will be in the top 10. WOW That sucks.

Yep, there's no secret to why SC, Texas and Bama are always good and will always be good. And even the Florida schools, but not as much as the other 3 in my opinion. That's where all the big time high school football is played and that's where it will continued to be played.

Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor, and SMU are all located in the state of Texas. When's the last time one of the before mentioned schools reeled in an elite class? Yes, location matters, but winning is important above all else.
