Can you think of another Duck season that has gotten better results than this squad when considering
the level of talent?? I can't think of a Duck team that had lower expectations and has played at a higher
level than Altman's boys!!
The most with the least?

The Kamikaze Kids were great fun to watch, but I believe the talent level was always superior to that currently on the Oregon roster... Add one or 2 kids with the talent of Ron Lee (Coached by Rollie Massimino in HS, he was also a soccer goalie, and threw the javelin 235 feet), Gerald Willett, Greg Ballard, or Stu Jackson, even Ernie Kent (A Parade Magazine All-American in 1973 at Rockford, Ill., West High School), or Kelvin Small, for that matter, and this current team would experience a serious upgrade in ability.

Re: The most with the least?
The only season I can think of that "really" comes close is the '98 year, the season that we went to the NIT semifinals in MSG. It's not that we didn't have some talent, but (and help me out here, my memory is starting to slip apparently) we basically had Terik Brown and a bunch of unknowns coming into the season. AD Smith wasn't really "AD Smith" by that point, we had a highly regarded freshman (Frederick Jones) that really struggled at times, and two brand-new JC starters (Darius Wright, Alex Scales) who were plugged into the guard spots. As good as they were as seniors, there were definite growing pains in their first year here. We went 19-13, but this was the year of the Adam Spannich miracle halfcourt buzzer beater and after that we went through a midseason spurt where we lost something like 6 of 7 games, all by 3 points or less. The Spannich shot crippled us mentally. We finally found our mojo late in the season and went on a nice little NIT run. Was Mike Carson still our big man? Yikes.

The team had Chris Christofferson, Flo Hartenstein, and Yasir Rosemond (Former Duck assistant under EK), as well.
Lots of potential there.
Most painful Oregon loss I ever watched in person... Part coaching, part execution. Pure choke.
Gotta give Spanich an "E" for effort.
