Re: Matt Court Floor
I really love the floor. It's new & different - hellloooo, we're Oregon! The only trouble I had was the brightness of the lights that ring the floor & constantly change colors hence making it harder to focus on the action. Could just be that the floor needs to be dulled down a little bit so the lights don't bounce off so much. I didn't find the graphics a problem at all.

I was watching the UCLA game on Saturday and it did look like they turned down the banner lights since they weren't as noticeable on the floor when compared to the opening game.MFRDuckFan wrote:I really love the floor. This was my first time seeing the new court, at least on tv when I watched a minute of the Stanford/Oregon women's game. I'm all for Oregon trying to be different, but I think the floor looks disgusting.

Re: Matt Court Floor
I've seen it on TV (HD ans standard) and I don't understand all the complaints I think the floor looks great and in person (I went to the women's Civil War game with my daughter) its even better...love this floor (its original and reflects our past and the state) and the stadium looks like a professional arena, I hope it draws serious attention from recruits!

This is exactly why I don't like it.woundedknees wrote:I don't think "gimmicky" was the intent, but there are definitely some players who can be distracted by unfamiliar things, such as the pattern on Matt Court.
Like I said, any advantage is welcome.
While not being able to recognize details such as the half-court line are distracting to viewers, I believe the players are practicing there enough that an over and back call against the Ducks is a brain fart, not the failure to recognize where the mid-court line is located on a regular basis.
I would prefer us to be known for the quality of our players & style of play.
Instead we are now looked at as the Boise of basketball.
And that glare is annoying as hell...

I don't really care for it honestly. But the positive side is that I really believe it will give us an edge at home. Ask boise.

the yellow trees on the court floor remind me of the first version of the Oregon license plays with trees. the yellow trees looked (and look( dead.
the plates are much better since they changed the trees to green.

Re: Matt Court Floor
The first time I saw the floor, I didn't know what to think. I don't think the glare is any more annoying than other floors and after the first 5 minutes, I didn't really notice the floor much. However, after seeing it in person this last weekend, I really love. MK arena is top notch! The sound system was out during the Husky game and it sounded exactly like Phoenix stadium's system... awful! I'm sure they are fixing it, but I do agree about the horn. It sounds really weird.
Even if others don't like it, it is in no way as bad as that wretched blue field. My eyes at least became accustomed to looking at the court and when watching fbsu, they bleed!

Re: Matt Court Floor
My original thought was that the court was okay. Then I went to the Women's Civil War and the floor was cool in person (haven't seen it on tv yet), but I was blown away by the whole experience. The pregame stuff they did was really cool. It made the game an attraction, an atmosphere. I would prefer a half court line, just because half (or more) of the fouls seem like bs anyway. Don't want to give the Pac 12 ref's any extra chances to screw things up.
All in all, it was like going to the movies or something, not just a basketball game. Very impressed.
I want to see more game there now. Why does that matter? Because I am an extremely casual basketball fan. (I hate how foul oriented the whole game is.) That was the first women's bb game I have been to and I would go again because of the show they presented. It really made it fun regardless of the game on the court.
I think they get an 'A' for this arena. Can't say enough good things about it.
