If the Ducks are still recruiting 2011

Post by woundedknees »

are there any bigs still out there who are worth the effort?

Daniels is fininshing at IMG, rather than choosing early enrollment, anywhere.

6'9"/225 Kevin Johnson, out of William Howard Taft HS in Woodland Hills, Ca, appears to be headed to JUCO.

If only because St. Johns is on the kid's list, I think the Ducks should go after 3* 6'*"/225 Keith Coleman, of Lee Academy, in Lee, Maine.

One player who has Oregon on his list is 3* 6'8"/230 PF, Braeden Anderson, out of Wilbraham And Monson Academy, in Wilbraham, Massachusetts. A Canadian native, his current list includes California, Georgia, Kentucky, Oregon (No current offer), and UCLA.

Anderson originally signed with DePaul, in Nov. 2010, but subsequently granted a release.

Anderson is averaging 19.5 points, 11 rebounds and two blocked shots a game. He was named MVP of the Peddie School Tournament, which was won by Wilbraham & Monson.

Strengths are listed as "running the floor, ability to guard multiple position, unselfishness, and offensive rebounding"... All things that Altman seems to emphasize.

He was listed as the number 2 player at his position out of Canada, behind Jesuit's Kyle Wiltjer.

Evidently the transfer of Devoe Joseph may have something to do with this interest...

Several high major programs have been in contact with Anderson's coaches including some that weren't in the mix previously as mentioned by Braeden in a recent phone interview. Schools include Kentucky, Tennessee, Stanford, Cal, Georgia, Oregon.

Most of the schools mentioned would have Anderson align with fellow Canadians such as Kentucky commit, Kyle Wiltjer, (NPH #5), Stanford's Dwight Powell & Stefan Nastic, Emerson Murray's Cal, and recently transferred, Devoe Joseph of Oregon.

The only way Oregon gets another player is if someone leaves. Anderson sounds like a real interesting prospect. May have to keep an eye out for him if a spot does open up.

So the rich get richer. They're incoming class for next season is just crazy and Anderson would make it even more so.

Amazing how many scholarships are available season to season when the focus is all one and done players, eh? (Note the tongue firmly placed in cheek.)
