I imagine Kuedall will get the start.

I heard some scuttlebutt about maybe McGoo ought to get a start midweek and get some innings in - maybe just needs more work to get things straightened out.

Except this is the MooU game - and maybe Scott isn't the best choice, here - but - the next "midweek game" won't be until Wednesday, March 23 (at San Francisco).

The other option is to get more work on the side in the pen and be prepared to go in long relief should one of the weekend starters have an off day.

I would suspect that McGough stays the closer until someone else shows up during practice or Horton finally has it during a game.

If this were a 162-game schedule, there would be time for him to dial in his stuff. Unfortunately, it's a 60-game schedule, and blowing late-inning leads isn't part of the Horton scenario.

Maybe it's time to go with Moen or ?

I guess I like how Horton is handling it, he is going with Moen quite a bit (he's got a couple of saves already) but McGough is too talented to just ignore because of a bad couple weeks. Kuedell usually tops out at 5-6 innings, I'd throw McGough out there today as a middle reliever just to get some work in during a non-pressure situation.

That sounds like a good plan until McGough can find the control he had last year.

I'm a big fan of keeping players in their comfort zone to maximize their production, hence I'd also be apt to move Marder back to the outfield and going with Hambright/Karakker behind the plate.

What else is new with this team's offense. Almost makes you wonder if the new bats are hurting more than we previously thought they would.

I don't think bats are the problem personally, they were supposed to effect power numbers and nobody on our team has any power to begin with. If anything, switching to the new bats was supposed to help small teams like us. We're just not making a ton of contact right now, and when we do, we're not doing much when we put balls in play.
