Re: Oregon @ San Francisco (1 game series)
Well, let's see. San Fran is 9-11 on the year, 1-6 against the Pac-10. They pitched UCLA pretty well in season opening series, losing 1-0, 4-1, and 3-0. They lost 14-0, 7-0, and 8-5 to Arizona. Perhaps more relevant to us is their 7-6, 11-inning win over Cal, since that was a mid-week game and these mid-week games tend to be separate beasts. The Dons are actually 3-0 in mid-week games this year, beating Sac State 3-2, SJSU 10-0, and then Cal. We're 0-2, losing, of course, to UP and OSU.
Still haven't heard who's on the bump today.

3-0 going into the bottom of the 3rd. First two got on, Pulfer sacrificed them into scoring position, Marder had a sac fly and Serna eventually scored on an infield error when the Dons couldn't throw Jones out at first.

This team is on a roll. I think the Wichita State series will be a good test for Oregon.

These past few games haven't really been against a team that could seriously challenge most Pac-10 teams. Wichita State will show how well Oregon has progressed.duckgrad99 wrote:This team is on a roll. I think the Wichita State series will be a good test for Oregon.

Re: Oregon @ San Francisco (Ducks win series 1-0)_
Didn't want to start a new thread for it, but the Ducks beat San Fran 4-0 today. Jones was awesome, 6 innings/4 hits/0 runs/7 ks. McGough came in and pitched a 1-hit 7/8/9.
Sabol had another two hits, he continues to round into form.
18-16. We host Portland tomorrow. Prowitz speculates Healy will get the nod, hard to disagree.

Jeff Gold (RS-Fr) will start against UP
“I don’t think anyone has their eye on Omaha anymore. I don’t think anyone’s thinking about the Super Regional. I don’t think anyone is looking at hosting a regional. At this point we have to bear down and get as many wins as possible,” according to Danny Pulfer. We started FIVE freshmen today and they did well. USF had outscored UP this past weekend 31-4. Hope we can get another tomorrow against UP.
