True, he's a pretty good passer. Don't know about his defense though, never read anything spectacular about his play on that side of the ball.oregontrack wrote:cough Joseph cough

Re: Devoe Joseph defense?
I found this blurb in an article from Joseph's first season at Minnesota...
http://www.gophersports.com/ViewArticle ... ID=1575137
"Joseph was always looked upon to score on his AAU and high school teams, therefore was always known for his offensive skill set. But one of the reasons Joseph elected to become a Gopher is because he wanted to partake in Smith’s intense full court pressure defense. A scorer that prides himself on defense... Excited yet?"
“Any good basketball player doesn’t want a player to score on them,” said Joseph. “Defense wins championship and that’s why I came to play for Coach Smith.”
http://www.yardbarker.com/college_baske ... er/3914302
"Joseph was averaging 11.2 points per game which was good for third on the team and was tied for second in assists per game with 3.5 a contest. Joseph was second on the team with 16 three’s and connecting on 38% from the 3-point arc. He also played a stellar defense and provided floor leadership."
Hope he retains that focus with the Ducks!

Re: Malcolm Armstead out?
^Great find wounded...we will have to have a number of guys play better (mature) and the new guys fill in to fill the holes left by Armstead and Catron...but the team looks capable of doing it!
GO DUCKS!! WTD!

Re: Malcolm Armstead out?
Matt said the other day that he has been told by some scouts that they consider Emory the top JC player this year. If that's the case with Brown and Joesph we should be able to make up for the loss of Catron and Armstead.

Re: Malcolm Armstead out?
Well, Armstead wasn't God's gift to defense, even if he had a knack for pick-pocketing. Not sure I'd worry to much about Joseph's, though wounded's link seems to indicate he's more than capable.UOducksTK1 wrote:True, he's a pretty good passer. Re: Malcolm Armstead out?
I'm so glad that Altman was able to get such a great find in Emory. Emory flew under the radar for a lot of bigger schools until he committed to Oregon. It's surprising no one really made any contact with him, considering how well he's done the past couple seasons.buckmarkduck wrote:Matt said the other day that he has been told by some scouts that they consider Emory the top JC player this year.
