Here is the article from DT with a great interview with him talking a little about all the programs who made a run at him late.

Excellent news. Crazy that Georgetown, Texas, and K-state tried to jump on Emory so late in the game. Really says something about what kind of talent Emory is.
“If everybody in this room just want to be real with themselves, this game could have went either way,” he said. “We turned the ball over a lot. We beat ourself. Just be real with yourself right now. We beat ourself.”

No doubt, hes regarded as one of the best JC prospects in the country, and he wasn't even 100%. Very excited to see what he can do.uostudent wrote:Excellent news. Excited that he will be a part of our team next year! Sounds like Altman and co. did terrific scouting work and great recruiting to get him on-board.

Going to miss the Maehl Man

Re: Emory in
interesting that he says he's here to play SF, I would think he'd be in a rotation at PF with EJ at the 3 and Nared at the 5.

Re: Emory in
He can jump out of the building it seems, and at least reading what MacMallard had to say after watching a entire game of his is that he is more of a natural 3 but can also play the 4 spot. He really worked on his 3 point shooting and shot it pretty well last year with a 38% avg. He really seems like a gym rat who will only get better each year.

Re: Emory in
He looks like the perfect replacement for Catron's game and a good complimentary player to Nared, Singler, and Jacob. He used his post game for most of his career until finally developing a bit of an outside shot this past season.buckmarkduck wrote:He can jump out of the building it seems, and at least reading what MacMallard had to say after watching a entire game of his is that he is more of a natural 3 but can also play the 4 spot. And great to see it's now official: http://www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml ... =205136919
I've learned to wait until they "clear compliance" or whatever before I get too excited.
Particularly if Jacob (and each of the other players) is healthy next year, combined with the Italy trip, I really look forward to seeing what they can do next season.

Re: Emory in
The Italy trip is going to be one of the best things for this team, considering all of the new players that are going to be on the roster: 5 new recruits, 1 for sure transfer in Joseph, and another potential transfer if the guy from LaTech comes in to take over a scholarship opened by Williams and/or seiferth leaving. There's just been so much turnover with this team that it's possible there will only be 3 Kent-recruited players on the roster when next season starts.Greenblood wrote:And great to see it's now official: http://www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml ... =205136919

If Emory turns out like this guy, it will bring down the scoreboard at Matt!
