Olu to visit this weekend

Haven't seen it posted yet, apologies if I stole someone's thunder.
"Good friend of Devoe Joseph", that can't hurt. Let's hope for some solid weather.

Should be a little cloudy and a chance for rain, but nothing so bad it would sway him too far. All I can say is at least it'll be better than what's going on near the Mississippi.oregontrack wrote:http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.s ... r_olu.html

He's from Canada so weather shouldn't be a problem.

Oregon Mosquitoes don't hold a candle to the Canuck version, so that shouldn't be a problem, either.

Good news, that he's visiting, Ashaolu could bring some much needed depth... Thanks for posting!

At this point, I think getting these experienced "one and done" players still help in Oregon's attempt to transition to a strong basketball program. But I also hope that this is the last year of this sort of thing. Hopefully beginning in 2012-13 the Ducks will have good enough personnel that only good HS recruits and the occasional JC need apply.

I think this is probably the last one Altman takes for awhile since he's just trying to build a roster strong enough to compete until he can get multiple recruiting classes in.Greenblood wrote:At this point, I think getting these experienced "one and done" players still help in Oregon's attempt to transition to a strong basketball program. One of the top transfers in the country, Olu Ashaolu (La Tech) is at Oregon now. Texas on Mon/Tues & SD State Weds/Thurs.

That trip to TX worries me a bit since they have a lot to offer and have a much better program than Oregon right now.woundedknees wrote:JustinDYoung Justin Young

Yeah but do they have 1 guy back from last year at the 4 and 5 spot? He has 1 year to play, I assume he will want to go to a team that offers him the best shot at starting, and that's UO. Also he's really good friend with Devoe.

Yeah I gotta think that playing time will be his #1 deciding factor. But if he's really good friends with Devoe he's probably friends with his younger brother also, who plays for Texas. Along with a few more kids from Canada.buckmarkduck wrote:greenyellow wrote:That trip to TX worries me a bit since they have a lot to offer and have a much better program than Oregon right now.woundedknees wrote:JustinDYoung Justin Young

Olu is friends with both Canadian players at Texas, Cory Joseph and Tristan Thompson. Fortunately for Oregon, both players declared for the NBA draft, thus Olu has no Canadian ties there.dthomas=ddixon wrote:Yeah I gotta think that playing time will be his #1 deciding factor. UT is a very attractive destination, but I think Oregon has a great shot.
“If everybody in this room just want to be real with themselves, this game could have went either way,” he said. “We turned the ball over a lot. We beat ourself. Just be real with yourself right now. We beat ourself.”

Re: Olu to visit this weekend
yea, i'd be more worried about Texas if Joseph and/or Thompson were returning. since they're not, the only Canadian that Texas will have I believe is incoming PG Myck Kobango (not sure if Alu knows him or not). but remember, losing Thompson and seniors Gary Johnson, Matt Hill, and Clint Chapman all in the post, Texas does have playing time to offer. however, Oregon and San Diego St were the original two options for Alu, so Texas is technically trying to beat out the 2 schools that Alu was initially interested in. and i'd actually say that Oregon is the team to beat (just my opinion - no inside knowledge), but we'll find out soon enough.
