Here's a look ahead to some of the names to look out for from the northern cali bay area. Typically we do so much recruiting from the area. I expect we get a few more, but possibly not as many as usual with a limited class and national attention. We'll see.

Good find. It's pretty amazing that in a given year Cal fails to get the 1 & 2 players from the Bay. I assume Stanford could now become more of a player in their backyard now that Harbaugh seems to have them pointing in the right direction; but I think it speaks volumes about the quality of recruiting being done by the Ducks staff in that area. To pull kids away from home in a major metropolitan area, a program that has had similar amounts of success and pub as the Ducks, is a pretty impressive job.

You could say the exact same thing about Oregon. When was the last time Oregon landed the first and second best kid in the state of Oregon?Elduderino wrote:Good find. First off, many times the second best player in the state isnt even D-1 quality & the Oregon coaching staff has no interest. Second, we have landed the top player the last 2 years in Scott Grady & BoLo (Bo was "officially" a B.C. player but he made a name for himself & got on the recruiting map at South Eugene so he was an Oregon product in my mind. Even if you don't count him, Taylor Hart was rated the same, 3* with a 5.7 Rating, as Siddoway.)Duckxing wrote:You could say the exact same thing about Oregon. Years when Oregon produces the caliber of player that was available when QBs Clemens and Andersen signed withOregon and Oregon State are few and far between... HS programs in the state of Oregon do a lousy job preparing the kids who may have the right physical tools to mentally handle playing D-1 level ball.

Sure there is more talent in the Bay Area when compared to the whole state of Oregon, but still Oregon hasn't been able to land high profile kids from its own area, much like Cal. And when did Grady become a five star recruit? Ethan Grant (Lincoln High School) was a 5* Army All-American the same year we landed Grady.dthomas=ddixon wrote:First off, many times the second best player in the state isnt even D-1 quality & the Oregon coaching staff has no interest.
