I worry about our future as a nation every time I read the comments at the bottom of things like that, youtube vids, etc.

Back on topic…A local radio guy said that he heard from a trusted source that Jefferson did not take a snap today, if true he probably is not starting in the opening. That or his throwing hand is sore from the fight.
On the internet, you got a bunch of tough guys who would never voice their opinions the way they do in real life. I hate seeing people take such joy in people's failings and tragedies. I'm laying off on Jefferson and LSU because not all the facts are out and don't want to look like an a$$ for jumping on them too early.

Coundnt agree more... had to explain that to 3-4 coworkers when they were badmouthing JJ/LSU this morning... Sheesh, you'd think Duck fans would know better...

Especially with what we've had to put up with the last 2 years. I think it probably has more to deal with it's happening to an SEC school and the next opponent versus just being judgemental bastards on anything pertaining to football, although I'd have to say the second part may be playing a big factor too.

People are always quick to believe the negative and are resistant to the positive when it comes to accusations of another. Unless they see that person as a friend/athlete they admire/other person of intrest of course.

Everyone licks their lips when people fall off the pedestal (especially in sports) and your team will benefit. Win at all costs. You would think Duck fans would have learned by now, so they should be standing back from the keyboard with everything we've been through.

I for one hate to see anything like this happen to any team. I know kids will be kids, but many of us would have killed for a D1 scholarship and to mess up that sweet ride makes you crazy. If I was a parent of one of those boys, heads would roll. Opportunities like that don't grow on trees and to pull that crap deserves a kick in the butt.

Just to keep everyone up to date with this. The players will talk to the police tomorrow. Once that happens I expect things will speed along and any arrest that will be made will be down swiftly if they are indeed necessary.

According to Yahoo, they may not even speak to the police at all.

The attorney for LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson and three of his teammates says he is not aware of any immediate plans for the players to be interviewed by police about a bar fight that allegedly involved them.

I don't know why everyone thinks they should talk to the police. It is NOT common procedure in a case like this.
The "victims" are asked if they want to press charges, and they say yes. The cops at that point create a file, and begin investigating. If they find something that warrants a meeting with the players, they will summons them. If they find something that warrants an arrest, they'll arrest them. If they find neither, then they'll do nothing. In the meantime, the players best bet is to shut up and practice hard...they have an IMMEDIATE problem with their coach.
-
And yes, all four were at practice today. In the span of about 30 minutes, 3 or 4 different LA sports sources (radio, writers) came out with as many different reports from practice. One said Jarrett Lee has been named the starter, another said Lee took 1st team snaps but JJ was at practice as well, another said JJ took 1st team snaps, and yet another said they split 1st team snaps. And here we are, knowing NOTHING about what is going on. The victims lawyer is trying the case in the media, but now some facts are starting to come out about the "victims". First it was reported that the guy in the truck was being pummelled by the team, and this 'marine' came from out of nowhere to his defense, in a good samaritan kinda way, to rescue this poor stranger. They have been throwing out there all weekend the title of 'marine', as if he was in dress blues as he entered the fray. Turns out, in fact, that ALL of the victims were buds. Turns out the 'marine' has a much more impressive rap sheet than any of the players involved. Turns out he was three sheets to the wind, along with his buds. Turns out he was never in NEARLY the bad shape that was initially reported. In fact, I'd be SHOCKED if he has injuries to even warrant 2nd degree battery, which by the way...NOBODY has been charged with. Turns out there's stories out there now that the 'marine' was the first to throw a punch.
-
Who knows...but I'm just glad there's less than 12 days before we'll know for a FACT who the LSU QB is.

I have to commend the occupants of this board for being first class posters. You'd be hard pressed to even find an LSU board that doesn't have a large segment of the population ready to lynch mob the players involved...facts be damned.

I've had this picture since Friday, but held off on posting it anywhere, since up until now, it wasn't released anywhere else to my knowledge. But tonight they showed it on the news in Baton Rouge, so he's fair game. This is the 'marine' minutes after the fight, posing for a picture.

I can also provide a picture of his 2008 mugshot from Florida.

Wowzers! I've wondered when stuff like this was going to start leaking online. With so many people there you know videos and pictures exist all over the place.
