Some message boards are full of vile disgusting stuff....
I think NOLA was the one to come out with the false report that arrest were going to be made according to their inside source…not exactly the most reputable of all news sources but I’m so hungry for information on this I get it where I can.
I wasn't trying to disparage your source... just the fact that open message boards (in general) attached to large entities such as The Oregonian or The Times-Picayune are a mind numbing vile place to spend time... it was my first venture onto any site related to LA or LSU...
Same BS, different location
No worries...I didn't take it as that, just throwing some info out about that site.
Back on topic: Baton Rouge Police Department is holding a press conference at 3:45 my time.
I stopped going on NOLA.com years ago...people think Tigerdroppings is full of "vile, disgusting" people, but at least there you get some intelligent discussion and humor, along with occasional information, mixed in. Nola.com is just a bunch of folks yelling at each other.
By the way, I kinda like Ducks Attack...11 Days, 2 Hours, 28 minutes.
"Right now we have conflicting statements...from parties at the scene," according to Chief White. "We have conflicting statements that support one version over the version the LSU players. What we don't have...is a version of an objective third party, that has no ties to either third party in this incident."

From what I've seen and heard when there are two parties in a fight together nobody gets charged or everyone does but no one wants anything on their record so everyone just drops it. Which would mean no legal punishment for anyone involved, it would just be up to Miles at that point if he decides to punish the players at all.
I've said it before and I'll say it again... When fighting is involved, I don't think Les Miles should let his players off the hook simply because there's not enough collaborating evidence for formal charges to be filed. It's pretty obvious these players got into a fight with the people who were injured. I refuse to believe that Miles doesn't know exactly what went down. Those players obviously put themselves in a very bad situation, and people ended up getting hurt.
I'm trying not to think, "This is the SEC, they won't be punished," but honestly I'm shocked a suspension of some kind -- even for one or two of the players -- hasn't been announced yet.

I don't think that's the case. The DA will pic it up even if they want to drop the charges.
Usually it's the other way around... the police over charge, but then the DA drops charges. If the police don't pursue charges, then it's doubtful a DA would.

They have a video of the scene from a neighboring business. If it's legible, it will either throw the book at the LSU players or clear their names.

The parties can refuse the charges at any time from what I understand...this isn't my area of law though.
And yes, even after the arrest the DA can choose not to file formal charges

Les is about to speak now....I have a feeling he may be handing out a suspension..

Wow, I want the LSU media to cover Oregon! The media is told it can't cover the Les Miles press conference live, and the TV commentator simply says, "Ah, I can understand LSU wanting to limit media access in this sitaution."
LOL, that's just very funny to me. If that were our media, they'd already be shouting from the rooftops about a coverup.

No s***. Our own media would already be calling for the head coach to be fired and half of the team to be suspended. I do appreciate the loyalty to football in the south. Even if it crosses the line at times.
