I am curious about what exactly occurs on an official visit for these recruits....
What is commonplace, fanciful, unusual, not allowed etc. etc.
Specifically, What happens at all universities? More Specifically, What happens in Eugene?
Thanks! GO DUCKS!

Re: Official Visits
Is this info super secretive or is everyone else in the same boat and not really know either?

Re: Official Visits
I can't speak to Oregon...
but I took a couple of trips to lower division schools about 10 years ago, and a lot of my trips were hanging out with the team, meeting the guys, talking to coaches, parties
If you want to see the crazy side of things google Willie Williams and Miami

Re: Official Visits
My wifes cousin worked for the athletic department during the Onterrio Smith and Samie Parker years. She even was the host and contact for Terrance Kelly and flew down to CAli for his funeral with Bellotti and others. She has shared a little bit of it with me from time to time. Lets just say the visits then I am sure are not the same as they are now. Fancy meals, tours, parties, girls.....
Also lets just say when I heard about the Whizzinator I was not shocked...Lets just say she had to "bail" some of them out from time to time. Lets just be thankful Parker was allowed to play, same for Onterrio.

Ya Onterrio was kinda a dirty guy from what ive heard..but hey he was one helluva RB. I remember oregon was always on the front of recruiting. We have 2 websites.... http://coachbellotti.com/ViewArticle.db ... LID=188174
and ... http://www.oregongridiron.com/goducks/
I believe both of these are run by the department if im not mistaken and both are used for recruiting purposes. I also remember before the NCAA banned it, we had art majors draw up comic books and send a page per week to recruits in the mail taking them from a recruit who had committed to oregon all the way thru the heisman ceremony.

Those two websites haven't been updated in awhile. It would seem they would be pretty good resources for recruits.ducksball wrote:Ya Onterrio was kinda a dirty guide from what ive heard..but hey he was one helluva RB.
