Bryce Brown leaving K-State for (he hopes) the NFL?
Wow. Anybody else celebrating the fact he chose a different team than OREGON?

"Knoxville's Jimmy Hyams reports Brown has been staying in the area, "doesn't plan to play college football anymore," and "hopes to get drafted and play in the NFL next year." We also learn Brown will attend the Vols' upcoming game against the Georgia Bulldogs and attempt to run a 4.4-second 40-yard dash at some point, just a tick away from the 4.3s he was reportedly putting up in high school."
(I don't have any idea what makes this kid tick, but it seems as if BB is a coach's nightmare... Wasn't there a report when he was being recruited that he refused workouts with his HS team? (Must be one high quality mentoring going on, there.)

“It is a difficult time for him,” Snyder said. “There are things he’s trying to work through and a lot of people trying to help him. It’s going to be important for him to reach out to those people and try to get things straightened away.”
Snyder said Brown’s problems were personal.
“It’s not about football right now at all,” Snyder said.

"Running back Bryce Brown has not practiced with the Kansas State football team this week, and his future status with the Wildcats is unknown."
"Two sources told The Star that Brown has been absent from all team activities since returning to Manhattan on Saturday night after playing in the team’s victory at Miami."

No problem. Forgotten long ago. He just didn't seem like a team player & I love guys who are nothing but the team, like Jeffrey Maehl. Take a million of those!! I feel bad for the kid because everyone kept telling him how great he was and not keeping him humble. He has great talent, but without a quality character it's wasted.mdm0302 wrote:I just wanna give credit to MFRduckfan, i remember when we recruited BB i basically said i though she was an idiot for not wanting this guy. I do take pleasure in seeing him not play for Snyder. Something felt fishy about Snyder somehow being able to pull him, his brother and Chris Harper all back to KState.

Honestly might be his best move from a business perspective. The hype surrounding his potential might put him higher in the draft than a mediocre career at K-State would.

Yes. And definitely no regrets considering the quality of RBs we've had since his whole mess. But at the same time, I really do think he would have done great at UO and had a better career. Basically, you never really know.woundedknees wrote:Wow. Anybody else celebrating the fact he chose a different team than OREGON?

I think if he hadn't gotten caught in the whirlwind that is recruiting he would have ended up at UO and been very successful. He had tons of pressure on him though since age 15 and had guys hanging onto him and tell him what to do and trying to profit from him and then he himself went on visits like it was a big rock band tour.UOducksTK1 wrote:Yes. The sad thing is, by all accounts, Handler Bryan Butler NEVER left the picture...

Looking at the picture, the question arises, "How could he"?
