Wow. Pretty good hire for Arizona. It will be fun seeing Chip go against him on a yearly basis.

My source just said Chip is officially back!
It will be announced at Autzen press conference tomorrow afternoon!

He's a smug jerk but he knows how to coach offense. I think he could do alright there. Better then anybody else they could get IMO

Other teams in the conference will get a little more practice playing against the spread. Could that make them a little more ready for Oregon?

His version of the spread is quite different than Oregon's, even though they share some basic play structures. I don't really remember him using a hurry-up type style that Oregon does and his seemed more dependent on the QB making a play versus the RBs.

Better him than Mike Leach in my opinion, based on how this team has been set up the last couple of years. (From our perspective). Living near Michigan, this is an interesting hire to me. People did not like him there. In interviews he seemed like he could care less how the defense was doing. I really doubt he'll be able to recruit a Denard Robinson level athlete to Arizona either. Then again, if you see the Wolverines this year, it looks like either Rich Rod just needed one more year to turn Michigan into a strong team, or it was coaching that was holding them back.

I think Rich Rod and Michigan just both whiffed on their decisions. It'd be like Denver bringing in a new coach and wanting Tebow to play like Dan Marino. He didn't have the right players, not even close to the right players for his system and it was just awkward to watch. Arizona will get some good receivers and if they can get in an athletic QB they could make some noise

I wouldn't sleep on RR down there just yet or even compare his time in Morgantown to his time in AA. He's a good offensive coach and he'll do much better than ole red face

I actually meant that as a positive for Arizona. 'Win for the Wildcats'

Arizona is better suited to run his spread since they were running a spread-type offense under Stoops and have a QB, Matt Scott, who should be able to run RR's offense.
