QBs transfering to the P12?
Dayne Crist is said to be looking at Wisconsin, SDSU and Utah. He would be one and done.
Jake Heaps is looking at UW, WSU, Cal and USC (yea, right, if your parents pay for it).
I don't think Wisconsin is going to take the gamble again, not on Crist so I think he goes to Utah, where he's probably a better fit anyways. It could also possibly allow for Jordan Wynn to take a medical redshirt year next year because of his shoulder to really heal and recover.
Heaps ends up at Cal. I think Sark passes and unless his parents pay for him to go to USC, Lane isn't giving him a scholly. If they do pay, he goes there. I don't think he can beat out any of the WSU qbs either, so Cal it is. He has to redshirt next year and then has two for two.

Why don't you think Wisky would gamble again? Their last gamble seemed to work out pretty well.

Russell Wilson was much more of a proven commodity than Dayne Crist is.
As for Heaps, it is pretty shocking that he regressed so badly during his Sophomore season..

Going to miss the Maehl Man

When's the last time a kid transferred from a avg team because of a lack of playing time, and ended up being a stud? Never is my guess.
Wilson doesn't count, he was told to choose football or baseball, and when he didn't fast enough his idiot coach kicked him off the team.

Wasn't Crist the top QB coming out of high school? I could understand wanting to get away from Brian Kelly. I don't know if I would count him out yet. Sure, the odds aren't good but I can at least understand his motivation.

Reading some Wisky boards they like the idea of adding Crist

Crist wasn't the top QB, but he was a 5*. He also had every chance to start, but injuries and inconsistent play cost him his job both years.

Yeah he has all the tools, just hasn't put it together yet. If he goes to a system/team like Wisconsin or maybe even Utah I can see him doing better

Jake heaps WAS the top recruit in his class (not saying same class as crist). he has potential but is a baby.

Heaps should have gone to UW and Crist should have gone to USC. It made more sense.

Re: QBs transfering to the P12?
RW was a proven commodity coming into Madison. Christ not so much sort of a meh showing at ND. Reason to bring him in is that the 4 QBs on upcoming Roster are all question marks. 1)Curt Phillips knee surgeries two consecutive years one on each knee. 2) Jon Budmyer was named starter out of spring (b4 RW showed up) but suffered yr ending elbow surgery in fall camp.
3) Joe(?) Brennan RS FR is current back up and saw some time in blow out games, not enough action to prove much 4) Joel Stave true freshman will be RS freshman going into spring ball. 5) Bart Houston (?) 5 star recruit coming in from Concord DeLasalle that runs a veer so needs time to adapt to learning pro style offense Wisconsin runs. With Crist badgers could get a healthy upperclassman qb that has seen time in games. A solid QB is the difference between Rose Bowl and Insight Bowl, that is why the fan interest in Crist. I am not sold on this, RW was a no brainer esp coming off the bad qb showing in spring game.

Crist ends up at KU with everyone's favorite fatty Charlie Weis, the man who recruited him to ND but never coached him.
Haven't heard anything on Heaps

QBs transfering to the P12?
Joe Flacco from Pitt to Delaware, Ryan Mallet from Michigan to Arkansas, Dan Buckner WR from Texas to Zona (I know it was pt and off the field issues as well). It happens more than you think that a guy transfers due to lack of PT and develops nicely. Hell, anyone remember Levi Horne, a Duck who transferred out and is now playing for the Bears?buckmarkduck wrote:When's the last time a kid transferred from a avg team because of a lack of playing time, and ended up being a stud?
