Wait....did he say he doesn't want to be in a two back situation? hmmm.....
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

Clay is very interested in Oregon. Very Interested. That said its always tough to tell a good friend no, and with Tate looking to be the starting QB next year it sure would be cool to hook up with him for 3 more years.

That said I have a feeling this is going to be a long process for Clay.

I think we missed the mark on James Johnson last year (a san diego product), I surely hope we don't miss the mark on Clay too. But, at this point, Chip obviously knows what he is doing and who he wants to target so I'll leave the selections to him.

Well if Rivals and Scout are BOTH wrong about Johnson's offer then you know something I don't which is great, however he visited, is listed as offered and was a heavy Oregon lean until the last few weeks when we allowed UW to take him. Now I don't know if that was choice or circumstance, I'll have to ask CK next time I see him, but kid TORE it up and really after missing on Bryce "Vols Bitch" Brown, we could really have used a RB last year IMO.
My point is with Clay I hope we don't wait too long and miss out on him as Michigan/Forcier are now in his ear big time it sounds like.

I have run into a few recruits who show up on Rivals or Scout as having offers that actually dont have offers. I've trippled checked with VJ Fehoko for one and he is one that doesn't have an offer. Last time I asked was about a week ago when he informed me of his UA all star game invite.

Clay sounds like a Michigan lock from those comments. It is a long process, however, and I suppose we have a decent chance if he visits.

I didn't want to write something all pro Oregon as people thought he is a lock for sure. That said, from talking with him I believe Oregon has a better shot than Michigan.

From talking with him Mops did you gain any insight that Oregon could be close to offering?

He said we are still in contact but he doesn't know if we are close. He did say however that he really hopes they do.
