Re: New Commish
This guy honestly made women's tennis relevant again. He is a VERY good hire and I am excited to see what he can do with the Pac-10 after he accomplished so much for women's tennis. There is an article on ESPN on him also.

Re: New Commish
Would it be too out of reach for NCAA football to have an end-of-the-year tourney like they do in basketball? Or would that make thinks 100x more confusing?

An empty seat would have been better as the commish than Hansen, so take this hire for what it's worth. Needless to say, he does not have big shoes to fill and anything he does will be better than his predecessor.

I think he will do good things for the PAC-10 with TV and Bowl contracts to garner more deserved attention.

Vote Republican and it could happen.gregspechtismyhero wrote:Would it be too out of reach for NCAA football to have an end-of-the-year tourney like they do in basketball? Or would that make thinks 100x more confusing?
The tennis guy could be good. At first reaction, I would have preferred someone with football or basketball background. But, I also like the fact that he isn't really connected to "the industry" as far as I can tell. With all of the crazy ties, nepotism and deals going on in NCAA, it's going to take an ambitious outsider to really make significant changes, imo.
