Heat!

Post by thomas time »

Miami closes it out tonight, YEEEEEEEEEES!!! Lebron and Wade 2 of my favorite players, but also glad to see Mike Miller, Juwan Howard and Shane Battier all finally win one.

They got it done, that is for sure. I am not a Heat fan per se, but I am not a LeBron hater like a lot of people are either. I was actually rooting for the Heat throughout the playoffs since I came to like Bosh, Wade and LeBron during the last Olympics as they played pivotal roles in securing the gold for the US. Battier is just an awesome role player that is easy to root for as well.

I've never liked Battier, going all the way back to his days at Duke. As I think about it, I seem to hate all players that come from Duke for some reason.

i've never understood the lebron hate. ever. one hour of self-serving television, and suddenly he's public enemy #1? nah. normally i wouldn't care either way, but the anti-lebron rallies really made it easy to root for the heat.

and, i suppose, as blazer fans, we really shouldn't be rooting for okc.

I kinda wanted the Heat just because I'm sick of hearing everyone micro-analyzing Lebron non-stop. I don't like Lebron but I'm just sick of hearing about him all the time and hopefully this cools down all the flames

I was kind of rooting for OKC since I really like Durant. Also, because I knew all the sports news sites would be kissing the Heat's a$$ like there was no tomorrow.

"Chosen One" tattoo.
Stoopid commercials.
Chalk toss.
"not 5, not 6, not 7...."
Egomaniac.
The King.
Those stoopid glasses.
Bailing on press conference after bad game.
Scared to shoot at end of games.
Over hyped.
Stoopid half beard.
Dumb tweets.
THE DECISION.

You forgot a few things that actually have to do with basketball:

-Regular Season MVP
-Finals MVP
-All-Star Game MVP
-1st Team All-NBA and All Defense
-Scoring Champion
-Rookie of the Year

As far as off the court:

-Every single trendy basketball player wears those stupid glasses
-Look at him....clearly he was "The Chosen One"
-Lots of players bail on Press Conferences after bad games/losses (KG in the Boston series)
-MJ didn't always take the last shot. Heard of Jim Paxson and Steve Kerr?
-His "dumb tweets" are almost always positive, as opposed to many other NBA 'role models'
-Those "Like Mike" commercials were just as tacky, same with "The Kobe System"
-Overhyped doesn't win multiple MVP's, scoring titles, 1st Team All NBA/Defense, and Finals MVP's
-Really...his beard? That is why you hate him?
-Lastly, how much money did "The Decision" make for charity? More than you'll ever donate to charity. On top of that, even he has said that it was a bad choice in announcing it that way. Get off his back.

Seriously though, anyone who thinks LeBron is anything but the best player currently in the NBA is ridiculous. The only other player who had a chance at claiming it just lost 4-1 in the NBA finals. Everyone hated on him because he didn't have a ring and he has that now. Now people are hating because his tweets and his beard? Signs you have no argument...when you hate on someone because of what they tweet and their facial hair.

I still say that as long as Kobe is playing, LeBron is not the consensus best player in the NBA.

I blame ESPN for the Lebron hype and the Lebron hate. Obviously cause of the decision but they love their polarizing figures and they beat them beyond death(Tebow) until we're just utterly sick of hearing about them

I agree they built up the hype and drove some of the hatred for simple rating purposes.

Completely agree. I'm a Lakers fan, but Lebron is an incredible player. How can you not appreciate a player who busts his ass on defense, despite being a superstar? On the court, Lebron is one of the most unselfish star players in the NBA.
