Thanks for the update. Ivan needs to follow in his cousin's footsteps and play his college ball in the state of Oregon.

Issac Dixon LB Monsignor Pace, though undersized moves extremely well. If he was 6'1" instead of 5'11" he'd be getting looks from a lot of schools right now. I should have a highlight of his up later tonight/early tomorrow.

None of the Miami Central players were in attendance. Not sure why the coaches kept them out.

Mark Leal was there, but I still do not see Pac10 QB. He's barely 6'0", and arm is suspect, I question a lot of those offers he's claiming. Especially before spring ball when coaches can fly down and see him in person for the whole month of May.

Ethan Grant was there, but he's a RB so it's tough to get much on them in these kind of events.

Tony Grimes suffered an ankle injury and missed a lot of the camp.

I have a write up on some surprises/notes plus some video from the event on my site.
Great Report Luke!

Are you including LB Issac Dixon because he's interested in Oregon?

Luke I can assure you the coaches want Issac at Safety. That isn't my personal evaluation that is the one of the coaches. But liek you I am very surprised of the recent interest he is getting but hey, I trust college coaches and there evaluations.

WE definitely love it when our Safeties are a little bigger and can lay the lumber. So if this kid can stay fast enough to "just" keep up, Oregon will definitely give him a look back there.

It's going to be interesting with our safety situation. If Issac does indeed commit, is there space left for another prospect? Even then, we may be leaving quality players out. Ted Meline and Earnest Thomas are both pretty high on the ducks, while others like McDonald and Flowers are still looking for the right school. It'll be interesting how this recruiting season plays out with our limited amount of scholarships to throw around.

Looking at the numbers, I would think the Ducks will try to land at least 2 safeties in this recruiting class. Safety and defensive tackle are the two biggest needs on the defensive side of the ball.

I'd expect us to nab 2 safeties and 3 DTs.

Why are you always trying to make a kid look bad luke? First it was Ethan Grant, Then David Perry now Issac Dixon. None of whom you believe are any good or deserve an Oregon offer. So what Issac got burnt in a few drills, it happens. The kid Benjamin is probably the best player in the state next year. WOuld you rather they pull Issac's scholarship or something just so you can prove a point? Me and his dad spoke about you yesterday and how you are always saying negative things about kids. Do you see me bad mouthing kids? no, if I don't have anything good to say I leave it alone. Issac is a great player and you can't coach his intangibles or his heart. You say he is too small but the damn kid is 5'11 190lbs. How much bigger you want him, he just turned 17? Not every safety is 6'3 230lbs. like Sean taylor. Issac will play college ball at 6' 210lbs easy. That is plenty big. He is the same size as Jon Beason who I played with, then he played at UM now he made the pro bowl in the NFL; coming out of high school. Jon was barely 6' and just around 198lbs. Now he is one of the best LBs in the NFL and has a 12 million dollar contract. But hey, let's get Luke on the Carolina Panthers message board questioning why they took Jon in the first round and that he is too small. lol

Luke S. wrote:Ethan Grant. I'm sticking by this one. Go ahead and bash me for this because you are correct I don't think he's good enough for Oregon. Heck Bluestein even had him the #5 RB in Broward and I'm not so sure Dareyon Chance isn't better than him to make him #6. His teammates at NBP wonder if he's Oregon good, his teammates on the South Florida Express were wondering why he had an Oregon offer and committed. There is more to football than track times.
What do you view as Ethan's biggest weaknesses that will prevent him from having success in Oregon's offense? Do you think it is likely he can improve these weaknesses, or is it pretty much a wasted scholarship in your mind?

Luke... The SS position at Oregon is n OLB. Prime dime is on the money here

Luke S. wrote:HAHAHA, that's funny. If you read another one of my posts I said if Dixon was a couple inches taller he would be getting looks from across the nation. I love Dixon as a player, flies all over the field sideline to sideline. He's just not a S plain and simple. As a S he would be going against players like Kelvin Benjamin every Saturday. Heck, Dixon is one of the players I think Oregon SHOULD go after and would be one fans from the State of Florida 3 years down the road would be scratching their heads saying, "How did he leave the state?" (Pretty sure I posted that on this board as well).

But go ahead just because I say he can't play S, twist that into me bashing the kid and thinking he sucks.

David Perry, really freaking big, fairly athletic (does not run like Usain Bolt as you said). I just don't see elite DE, but my gosh if it's true he's still growing and playing basketball (tough to get big running up and down the court all the time), I can see him getting paid A LOT to be an OT ala Eric Winston (Miami to Texans I believe). I'd take him and figure out his position just because he's so big. But because I don't see it at DE for him and he didn't live up to your Bolt expectations, I'm bashing the kid. Alrighty...

Ethan Grant. I'm sticking by this one. Go ahead and bash me for this because you are correct I don't think he's good enough for Oregon. Heck Bluestein even had him the #5 RB in Broward and I'm not so sure Dareyon Chance isn't better than him to make him #6.
