Good find. He actually interviewed quite well, compared to how most college athletes interview, and he's a junior in high school. He definitely sounds 100% solid on Oregon. He's says he's excited for college...I'm excited for him.

Well, it was a huge factor... Cause I really needed it for my junior season, you know, to get that college offer that I wanted..."

"Why commit so early, and why the University of Oregon?"

"Well I committed so early because, one reason, when you find that special place, and you know it's that special place, like I found North Broward, there's no other school that can compare...

"They've had some pretty productive running backs up there, too. That's gotta be another motivating factor."

"Yeah it's a huge, Huge, HUGE motivating factor!"

Sounds pretty satisfied to me!

It can't be said enough how much of a plus it is to have a player commit early. I think it indicates a strong sense of fit in a program. I really think that was a source of power for Jeremiah Johnson (not to diminish the Duckness of any other players). He just seemed to thrive on the relationship between the game and the fans. He was(IS) all Duck and I think it gave him an extra yard in his YPC column. :)

It seems like, these days, a lot of players assume that they will be great wherever they go, regardless of the circumstances at a program. So, they prolong the process and see what everyone throws at them to "win them over." I fear that a lot of these kids put too much stock in the fireworks show every program puts on, rather than the brass tacks of what the team does on the field and whether or not they get along well with the coaches.

So, very happy to hear that Ethan Grant knows what he wants and that is to be a Duck. Looking forward to seeing him play out here.

I too can't wait to see this guy play as a Duck. However, don't we need a big bruiser like Blount or Snoop to compliment these next set of RB's coming in?
