Thanks, quackattack. That's tough for Creer because he had potential to be in the NFL one day. Hopefully things turn out alright for him.quackattack wrote:Tennessee football coach Lane Kiffin has confirmed running back Lennon Creer of Tatum, has been given his scholarship release by the University of Tennessee.UOducksTK1 wrote: Those are some big losses. I wonder where Lennon Creer will end up.
Multiple sources have told KTBB Sports the former all-state running back is interested in talking to the following programs; North Carolina, North Carolina State, Missouri, Rice, Tulsa, Tulane, Louisiana Tech, Baylor, and Northwestern Louisiana.
Of the nine schools listed, only Northwestern Louisiana would give Creer the opportunity to play immediately.

From volnation forums on 04/21/2009:
A response to this...Talked to a buddy of mine tonight who is on the team. He said there are a few names floating around the locker room of possible transfers....
Here is what he had to say about each
Anthony Anderson - said Anderson has expressed frustration bc he wants to play receiver, not DB.
Walter Brimfield - considered to be soft and not to popular with the new staff
Ahmad Paige - said it was becoming obvious that he might not see the field in the new scheme and with the incoming talent.
BJ Coleman - heard this a few times, but thinks there is not much merit to it at all. (He only mentioned it he said bc it had come up on several occassions) Most of the rumors centered around Duke, but again, I nor he think there is any reason for him to transfer at this point in his career.
These are the names that he had heard. Mentioned that he had heard all the player sans Coleman say it in person. He seemed to think that Paige was the most likely to leave.
But it's cool, typical justification:Paige and Brimfield are very likely.
Someone said they heard Vlad Richard say that B.J. told the team he was going to Duke.
Anthony Anderson is really tight with Chris Walker and Ben Martin, and he is also very involved on campus, so I find it hard to believe he'd be leaving. Could be wrong though.
Anthony Anderson, William Brimfield, and Ahmad Paige will likely never see the field in a major capacity anyway, so them opening up scholarships for capable freshman wouldn't be the worst thing that has ever happened.

The players leaving are smart, certainly more intelligent than Bryce Brown.

Oh. His train is scheduled to collide some time after he actually has to practice under Kiffin for a season.
Coleman did sound like a stand up guy and had well-reasoned points. Have yet to hear the Kiffin explanation.

I’m sorry to say that I am getting addicted to reading the Tenn. Boards. No where else, have I found so many stupid, arrogant, football fan shtick. Every time I go there it brings a smile to my face. Even our friends up north (take your choice) have never gone that far over the top. If I thought they were serious I would be worried for their mental health or their family trees.

That's a damning article, certainly. If sour feelings can really become poisonous to a sports team, the coaches at UT need be on guard.wheaton4prez wrote:Add some more dead wood to the pile: http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2009 ... ke/?sports
