Reed has Oregon in his list of 7 schools. He had nice things to say about all the teams, but mentioned this about Oregon: " "I aint even going to lie, I'm feeling Oregon." I hope we manage to pull him out here for a visit. Anything can happen, but I have a feeling he'll end up at LSU.

Re: Trovon Reed
I was wondering the same thing. 5'11 with a 4.6 40 is hardly eye popping. I couldn't figure out how he was the #2 WR in the country. Curious why scout is so far off on this one. Sub 4.4.... now that would be nice.briarduck wrote:Doesn't have the measurements you look for but I like him! (based on first post...)

Good to hear he is "feeling Oregon". Let's get him out here for a visit.

Thibodaux (La.) High star Trovon Reed played with every ounce of soul that had in his body during this weekend’s New Level/Badger Sports 7on7 Tournament for the memory of his mother who passed away very recently.
Trovon Reed’s mother, Rosezina Reed, lost her battle with cancer late last week, but upon her request he still traveled to Las Vegas to compete in the New Level/Badger Sports 7on7 passing tournament.
And the Scout.com Top 100 receiver would have made her proud with the heart that he showed out on the field this weekend.
He helped lead the Texas/Colorado/Oklahoma squad in to the semifinals with amazing play on both sides of the ball (at wide receiver and cornerback) and was arguably the best player at the event regardless of position.
“It has been hard,” Reed said with heavy emotion ringing through in his voice. “Especially with my mother passing away yesterday."
“What he has done is simply amazing,” confirmed Scout.com recruiting analyst Baron Flenory, who ran the event and coached Reed’s team.

“He has made some of the most spectacular plays I have seen and he has played almost every snap. He played with heart and passion.”

You may think it is odd that a player would travel so far away from home after losing a parent, but Reed made the trip because his mom wanted him to attend.
“When I went to the hospital to see her for the last time I asked her what she wanted out of me in my life. She said that all she wanted from me was to follow my dreams in life. And this is my dream to be a football player.”
She said: “Don’t stop! I am suffering and if I leave I am going to be in a better place. I am going to be there with you every second. Everywhere you go I am going to be there.”
“She just told me to go and I went.”
“I never really had a daddy. My dad left. It has always just been me and my momma. We have been through a lot. She has been there for me since day one. We have been through everything you could have been through.”
“I just miss her.”

Sounds like quite a kid. The Ducks would probably be lucky to get him.
(From ESPN) 2008: Carried 91 times for 761 yards (8.4 average) and 10 touchdowns. Threw for 694 yards and 10 touchdowns. Caught 19 passes for 344 yards (18.1 average) and one touchdown. District and Region MVP. Second team all-state selection...

Not to sound callous, but with his Mother having passed away, and no father in the picture, Reed may well be more open to playing someplace far away from Louisiana...

Gosh, poor kid! I can not even imagine having gone through what he has been enduring! Yes, maybe leaving Louisiana would be a good idea for him, a way to create a new life away from sad reminders.

Notice the plane that we flew on?

Re: Trovon Reed
Tough to hear about his mom. Obviously I'd love to see him as a duck, but I want this kid to put up enormous numbers wherever he ends up. Reed must have tons of personal strength, I don't know if I could do anything productive the days after one of my parents passed away. Best of luck Reed... I'll be rooting for you wherever life takes you.
