Mops, I can't find a Nielson in any of the recruiting databases. Is this a new player or is it a typo that was supposed to be Corey Nelson from Dallas, TX?Mops wrote:So far I know of this

Thanks for the updates prime. Ivan was one of the guys I wanted most to visit us for the spring game. Oh well, gotta love his commitment. As long as they still visit, I can't complain.primedime wrote: Ivan McCartney has his football banquet on the 1st. he says he wanted to come so bad but his team is important to him and he doesn't want to miss it. I kinda admire that though, it shows how mature he is. He could have easily bailed on them for a fun weekend but didn't. He should be here the week of June 10 as should everyone who didn't make it to the spring game.

Be nice if those kids who were tied up in track obligations could reshedule and time their visits for the PAC-10 championships; A taste of Hayward would do wonders for a sample of the support they could receive.

I sure hope someone is on these track kids from Florida about the UO track program. The men are absolutely dominating and we need more sprinters. I truly think we need to be selling both programs to the kids who have a realistic shot of scoring in Pac-10 track competition.

It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

Sprinter corp has always been a weak link to the team.
Like you I am surprised that more isn't made of that fact. However track is just now on its return to prominence, and frankly we are seen more so a middle to long distance school (though in the 70's we had some outstanding weight event athletes). I would think the fact of the indoor team success and any effort to sell that program would pull better on these sprinters. Definite balancing act on getting these kids on the track for spring being the season overlaps with spring football.
Did Kent run his Jr/Sr year?

I know he didn't run his SR year since he was training for the draft, but I think he did run his JR year.Greydrake wrote:Sprinter corp has always been a weak link to the team.

Spring game is only two days away. Has anything changed or has any new info popped up recently?
Has anything changed with the liklely to visit kids?
Who is in the possible visit category?

I doesn't sound definite, but linebacker Kiliyeon Cooper says he is going to try to make a visit to Oregon for the Spring Game. He also claims to have offers from Oregon, Arizona State, Colorado and San Diego State. His top three at the moment are Oregon, Arizona State and USC.

"USC has offered me free tickets for every home game this season.”
That doesn't spound like he was talking about the 'spring game' to me... Every Home Game?

Re: Spring Game Visitors (Can we get a list?)
we can offer free game tickets to any recruit who wants to come as long as they pay their own way. We can offer game tickets to every recruit in Florida but they have to pay their own way. The only time a recruit doesn't pay for anything is when they are on their official visit which means flights, transportation, room, food, etc. is all on the university.woundedknees wrote:"USC has offered me free tickets for every home game this season.”
