As if anyone needs another reason to root against Notre Dame, I am sure most people forgot about this.

Don't believe everything you read. Not saying that this player didn't rape the girl or that other improprieties didn't occur but I would be willing to bet that there is more than meets the eye with this story and the truth probably lies somewhere in between his version and her version.

You may be right but sweeping it under the rug and acting as if nothing at all happened is upsetting, I would feel the same way if something like this happened at Oregon and was handled the same way.

Agreed but, odd timing on this article if you ask me. Seems to me as though someone just wants to get her name out and what better way to do so then to write this sort of article when Notre Dame is in the limelight. And for the record, I hate everything about Notre Dame.

Yeah, I thought the same. In addition, I hate it that we have gotten to the point in this society that it is assumed something was “swept under the rug” just because an accused was not punished. The crime that is being alleged here is among my top three worst crimes against a human one could commit, but simply being accused does not mean it happened. It has gotten to the point in this country that if someone has been arrested for or even in this case just accused of a crime, they are guilty in the eyes of the public despite the evidence. Accept in rare cases that the person was only accused because of their “race” and then there is the extreme opposite reaction, they are innocent despite the evidence. I’m not sure I have a point here, this is something that bothers me greatly and I just wanted to rant a bit.

It is just that everyone jumps to conclusions nowadays. Look at the Duke Lacrosse case. Those guys faces and names were plastered all over the internet/news and will forever be linked to that case. If you Google any one of those guys names, I am certain that the first thing that will come up is that case, and it probably won't be an article talking about how they were exonerated.

It is no longer 'innocent until proven guilty', it is now, 'you are probably guilty because you got arrested and even if you aren't guilty, your life is ruined'. Nobody knows what happened that night except for the girl that is deceased and the player. This ladies insinuations are disgusting and it drives me up the wall how she is approaching this. Unless she was there, she needs to shut her mouth and not try to slander this unnamed player. All of the proof she has regarding this case is through the wire. The reason she doesn't name this player is because she knows she would get hit with a slander/libel lawsuit so quickly, it would make her head spin, and she would lose the case.
