Isaac Dixon update
Remember it's a cane writer and will have a cane slant, but hard to mix up these words. Which Dixon is one of my fave players out of FL, I think he would be an unreal rover for us.
"I don't want to say who my No. 1 is, but right now Miami's my No. 2 choice," Dixon says. "But Miami's high up there."
Dixon then adds that, should Miami offer, "most likely I'd be a Hurricane.

Re: Isaac Dixon update
I have to keep saying this but Oregon is a loooooooooooooooooooong ways away from Florida and my rule is that if the recruit is more than 1500 miles away, don't get your hopes up because Mom and Dad are a powerfull drug even when the recruit says distance isn't a factor. It usually ends up that it is. I fully expect zero Florida recruits every year no matter how positive they are about Oregon in April or July or the day before LOI day. The South ain't the West when it comes to football.jhopduck wrote:Remember it's a cane writer and will have a cane slant, but hard to mix up these words. I dunno his dad called me last night and said he wants to be a Duck so we will see. He is tripping out to Eugene in about a month and if all checks out he will be a duck. I doubt his dad would go out of the way to call me and tell me that if it wasn't true. Oregon was at his practice yesterday.

Lets see how he responds to seeing the Oregon campus and meeting the staff and players before we write off anything. Still a long way to go, but clearly we are a player.

Great news. Hopefully Florida players continue to stream in to Eugene to check things out over the coming months.primedime wrote:I dunno his dad called me last night and said he wants to be a Duck so we will see. Re: Isaac Dixon update
I know there are other "top rated" safeties on Oregon's board, but personally a kid that is fast enought to play rover and could play LB if needed, but just a tad small for is perfect for our Rover spot. Dixon had over 100 tackles last year, I think with coaching he would be one or our next greats. Especially with our commitment to stopping the run. I hope we remain a player, and this is one of my fave fives personally. But my opinion counts this much (blank)

Prime any chance his dad trips with him? That would be pivotal. Also how involved in his decision are his parents? IE-distance killers.primedime wrote:I dunno his dad called me last night and said he wants to be a Duck so we will see. Its a long way off for all of these recruits so lets not write any one off! We may not land a ton of FL guys but we should nab a few!

Yes his dad is going to come as well. I went and seen him in practice the other day and he looks like a stud. He has quick feet and hits like a truck. Miami Pace had a few other prospects out there that the Ducks are looking at too. Isaiah Williams a transfer from Miami Springs seems to be emerging as a top Safety in South Florida. He is 6'2 195 and he hits as well. They also have a RB De'Andre Johnson who reminds me of Maurice Jones-Drew who tore it up in the Pac-10. He is 5'9 208lbs. and runs 4.4 and has a 3.5 GPA. All the kids at Pace were 3.3 or better for the most part. On the oline they were 6'5, 6'6, 6,'8 across. One of them has an offer from UM. They also have a QB who looks very good, He has started to emerge this offseason as one of the better QBs in Florida. These guys play Booker T Washington this spring so that should show how good these guys really are.
